This is where we are heading…
Hello Hello. This time we are going for a little bit of a Wonky Pine. Who knew you could stamp so clearly with white onto black cards. I am stunned with the performance of the Clarity stamps with a white distress ink. What do you think?
I hope you enjoy and we would really love to see your versions on Clarity Worldwide. Let’s jump right in…
Step 1. Take a 7×7 black card blank and cut it in half, giving you two black card blanks. Use both and make two cards or have a practice on one and use the other as your original to get used to the pressure required with the white ink.
Step 2. Load up your speedball brayer with the white ink pad, and apply this to the shape using the ink from the brayer.
Step 3. Using the lace placed over the top of your black card blank, stamp through the lace with your petite gel shape 3 times. For a more masculine card use the Dotty Stencil or the scrap from punched sequins.
Step 4. Taking the square pine leaf, mounted on your 3×3 mount, load the stamp with the white distress ink.
Step 5. Stamp the two leaves opposite each other, one pointing up and one pointing down.
Step 6. Using your white posca pen (primed), colour in the open areas on the frames and leaves. You can go in several times for a whiter effect.
Step 7. Using the framer stamp from the set, frame the Scots pine square frames at the opposite side to the stamped leaf using your white ink pad, and add your white Posca as before.
Step 8. At this point you can add your chosen sentiment, I’ve chosen to put mine in the middle but it’s your art, place this where you feel it balances your work.
Step 9. Taking your green B Perga Liner pencil, follow the leaf highlighting down the underside of your pine leaf one side and the upper side of the other half of the leaf. This is just to give the pine a green hue, bringing out the colour from your designer paper. I have also highlighted the sentiment.
Step 10. Choose and cut your designer paper to size, to mat and layer. I have chosen a background that looks like it’s been splashed with paint drops. I wanted a lot of texture on my background but not too much that it deflects the beauty of the pine stamp. Finally, add your black card blank that you have cut down to 6.5 x 6.5, placing this at a wonky angle.
There you have it, a little wonky pine! Thank you for joining us for another inky arty Clarity Blog.
What a lovely step-by-step project!
Thank you, Tina, for putting this brilliant tutorial together for us. It makes it so much easier to achieve, when there’s easy to follow steps.
For those of you crafting away at home, please don’t forget to share your versions with us on Clarity Worldwide. We so love to see your versions of these cards! And sometimes they even make the Saturday Share blog too! 🙂
Everything that Tina has used in this particular project is available in a shopping list, HERE.

Thank you Grace and Tina, love this idea.
Have a lovey Christmas with the family and a Happy new Year.
love Janet Cummings xx
Fab tutorial, thank you both. Guess who is off to play with black card & picket fence ink. Take care everyone xxxx
Hi Grace & Tina, thank you for a great project that I will definitely try next week after the family have gone home, I can’t believe there is only 2 more days after today – my to do list is still quite long but as long as the presents are wrapped & there is food in the house the cooking can be done by everyone joining in.
Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas but also thinking of those that this time of the year is difficult. Take care everyone there are only 24 hours in a day, although we often wish there were more xx
Lovely project, thank you.
Thank you too for the calendar update as I am currently updating my 2025 diary.
Peace and goodwill to all.
Love this project! Simple, but so effective.
Merry Christmas everyone xx
Thank you Tina & Grace for a lovely and very achievable project.
Wishing all at Clarity, the Design Team and follow Clarity fans a Very Happy and Peaceful Christmas! I will be thinking of those who don’t have any company or having a difficult time due to lost loved ones, as I understand all too well what that feels like. For the first time in a number of years, I have at least managed to put a Christmas tree up this year.
I also wish everyone a Happy and fulfilled Crafty New Year! I am determined to improve my Parchment embossing (aka white work) and get some more practice with grid work over the next year as my Picot Cutting is improving nicely. If anyone is struggling with Picot Cutting, just persevere and it will get better!
