Saturday Share: The Art of August

Welcome to another Saturday Share!
It’s been a busy old week at Clarity Towers! Mum has been hosting our August Retreats, with the Pop-Up Shop happening yesterday too, and from everything I’ve heard they’ve been a huge success. I really hope those of you who joined us had a wonderful time, went home feeling inspired, and perhaps made a few new crafty friends along the way.
And the Retreat fun isn’t over yet! As you’re reading this on Saturday morning, Paul and Louise are getting ready for their Parchment Retreat this weekend. To everyone heading along, have the BEST time! I hope you have a brilliant couple of days together, filled with plenty of parchment, laughter and good company.
Meanwhile, here we are, another week deeper into Barbara’s August Arty Challenge, and I think it’s safe to say you’ve all well and truly embraced it!
One of the loveliest things about a challenge like this is watching it gather momentum. A little prompt lands each day, an idea starts forming, hands get busy… and before you know it, our groups are filling up with art. Some intricate, some simple, some colourful, some completely unexpected. All wonderfully YOU.
And judging by the amount I have to share with you today, there has been plenty of art happening this week! I’ve pulled together another big gallery of pieces that caught my eye, but as always, this is only a selection of everything being shared.
So, find yourself a comfy spot and something nice to drink. This is another one worth taking your time over. Let’s see what everyone’s been up to…

There is SO much to admire here. The time, thought and care that’s gone into these pieces really shows, and they’re all special in their own ways. Thank you for continuing to share your artwork so generously with us. I hope you’ve enjoyed taking a proper look through and perhaps spotted an idea or two that’s got your own creative cogs turning.
And to everyone spending this weekend with Paul and Louise at the Parchment Retreat, have a FABULOUS time! Enjoy being together, learn lots, laugh lots, and soak up every minute of it.
For the rest of us, perhaps this weekend is a good opportunity to carve out a little creative time of our own. The August Arty Challenge is still going strong, so pick a prompt, grab whatever you fancy creating with, and see where it takes you.

I have really enjoyed looking through & getting a few ideas.

Another great showcase, Grace. “Didn’t they do well?” as Brucie used to say. “they” includes you too, Grace.
My creative weekend is to finish scanning and reducing the size of my SHAC artwork to stick onto artist trading cards ready to display in the ordered ATC folder. I’m also looking to get up to date with latest SHAC projects that I have only been watching recently.
I’m not a stamper so I’m wondering whether I can combine some of the beautiful backgrounds as demonstrated by you mum with my reduced Shac artwork for the Arty Affirmation Cards still sitting in the unopened box..mmmm! Also have another great class with Louise and Paul to look forward to on Thursday.
My creative juices certainly have been nudged into action, finally.
I’m behind with my challenge art as I’ve been away for the retreats and visiting family. What fun we had, and how lovely everyone else’s artwork is!

Thanks so much for all the time you put into collating all this wonderful creativity Grace….I finally got round to buying my blank affirmation cards at the retreat, so I’m just about to get some inky art started!

Wow what a fantastic array of art work, I am still to get started but I will. No use having all the ingredients & not using them, I just need to shut myself away & get on with it before something else needs doing that is seemingly more important.

Morning everyone x This challenge has been fun and literally, a challenge! What will we do once we have come to the 31st of August?Hopefully we will all try to make som art every day. I hope Barbara will be resting after a hectic week at the retreats.

You excel yourself with this, your own challenge each week!! Sounds like the retreats have been a great success and sorry I wasn’t able to attend. I am late writing this as it’s been a weekend of celebration here with my lovely hubby’s 80th Birthday – so it was quick sticks this evening catching up on two days missed!!
