Saturday Share time!

Hello hello! Grace here.

I hope this finds you well. I hope you don’t mind a little share from me today, on this glorious Saturday!

Glorious for me anyway… because tonight is finally the night. The BEYONCÉ concert. I just love her. Have done for almost 3 decades now. 26 years! That’s a pretty long-term love innit?!

Listening to her music and going to her concerts has been a consistent thread throughout my life. I’m sure you have artists that mean a lot to you, right? Would love to know who.
I vividly remember every single show; going to two big Destiny’s Child concerts, one with the family at 11 and then one with a school friend a few years later. Then in 2009, during my first year of University in Manchester, Mum balled out on some EPIC tickets and we went together. That was amazing!!

In 2013 I went to see her in Philadelphia, with my cousin. And then in 2016, I flew from NY to Manchester (again) to go see Beyoncé with Lizzy, my best frienf. I think I’ve missed ONE tour of all the tours she’s ever done.

This year the tickets went on sale in February. Many of you will recall that January and February were pretty difficult months for the Gray family. We lost our beloved Grandad, followed swiftly by my lovely Mum spending the whole month of February in the hospital. I remember seeing the notification about the tour/ticket release whilst sitting next to Mum in the hospital; rubbish wifi, no excess mental energy to expend on the challenge that is acquiring concert tickets. It’s like trying to get Glastonbury tickets, they’re sold out almost immediately and the level of preparation to get them is beyond what I was capable of at the time. I had to just let it go. And I did, fully. This would be a tour I’d have to miss… there were far more important things going on than me and my blimmin’ Beyoncé obsession.

But the universe was on my side (in more ways than one) a week or so later. Whilst still at the hospital with lovely Mum, a good friend reached out to me and asked if I’d like to be included in their ticket purchasing, and where would I be willing to travel if they did manage to get some tickets. “Yes, please! And ANYWHERE”, I quickly replied.

So… we’re going to Chicago 🙂 which in hindsight is quite lucky really. It could’ve been anywhere. And I would’ve gone. True love, you see 😉 Lasts a lifetime!

And the even more lovely and serendipitous part of the story? A month later, in March, Mum & Dave offered to cover my concert ticket for my birthday. They didn’t even know all the details that I’ve just shared with you. Full circle. I’m a very very VERY lucky woman. And I know it. Not only do I still have my gorgeous Mum, but I was able to do the right thing, help where I could, AND get my hands on a ticket. And then Mum helped me right back, without even knowing it. So yes, I’m going to enjoy this weekend.

Right, I’ll stop rambling! As you can likely tell, I’m very excited. And I felt compelled to share, especially since so many of you reached out to me on the website chat system this week to say you’re enjoying the SHAC Bee… and Mum’s stories about my obsession that go with it. Ahead of packing, I settled down this week to find my favourite cards of the week… and as usual, I was overwhelmed by how many amazing pieces of artwork have been shared. Here are the handful that just NEEDED this extra showcase. I hope you enjoy these works of art as much as I do…

Sharon Anne King
Lorraine Denton
Gill Wilding
Jillian Brannan
Madeline Ramsay
Sue Evans
Dawn Rogers
Catherine Challinor
Tina Morris
Jane Gwynne
Stephanie Stephens
Akke Holzmann
Olivia Kirwan
Jennifer Woollacott-fletcher
Jean Bryant
Wendy Smith
Vicki Hall

OH MY GOODNESS! I am in love with all of these. Could you imagine receiving one in the post? How special.

Thank you for continuing to share your wonderful artwork in our Facebook communities; Clarity Worldwide and Groovi Worldwide.
There were actually more inky/stampy cards shared this week than usual, which is fantastic. Usually, it’s quite Groovi-heavy (which we also love!) but I was spoilt for choice this week! Which of course just makes it harder, but I managed! 😉

Did you catch Mum’s Moment of Clarity last night? You can catch up HERE.

Right, better be off. Touching this blog up at the airport 🙂
I’m intrigued though… what’s your favourite artist? OR… Favourite concert you’ve ever been to?
Travel gently, friends. Have a lovely weekend!

Lotsa love, Grace xoxo

Thank you for including my Strawberry card. I’m still very new to Groovi but it is definitely bringing out my creative side. Great inspiration to see all these cards – they are amazing. Lots of ideas to spark my imagination.

Thank you so much for including my art this week, but especially thank you for including my daughter’s, Madeline. That’s just amazing!
I don’t think I can pick one concert, back in the early 70’s I saw so many, even David Bowie, without realising the significance of that performance at The Greyhound in Croydon in 1971. This year we saw KT Tunstall which was pretty special.
Have a fantastic weekend, as I know you will. Xx

Thank you for including my cards Grace, it’s so lovely to have them shared alongside one of Mum’s beautiful creations!

For me, Adele will always be the one that got away in terms of concerts, as we had tickets but it was the show she had to cancel. I still have a tiny flame of hope flickering that one day I’ll see her, but at least I got close. I love that you’ve seen your beloved Beyoncé so many times, I hope that this occasion is another memorable one!

Can’t believe it’s taken a comment on the blog for me to find out that my Mum has seen Bowie in concert – clearly need to ask her all about that now! xx

Have a wonderful time in Chicago this weekend, your mom has been telling us about your concert visits to see Beyonce whilst we have been in the SHAC especially this week as we were drawing the bees. I have not really been into concert going although I did enjoy the Ed Sheeran concert last year at Wembley when we went with our daughter & 2 granddaughters. The atmosphere was amazing which you don’t appreciate watching on the TV. We followed that by listening to the concert in Hyde Park as we walked through to watch Beauty & the Beast the musical the next day. We certainly had a good mix of music that weekend !!
Lovely cards again that you have shared this weekend. it is so nice that everyone is sharing their artwork & also so many new comers to the pages as well. The Clarity family continues to grow.
Today is forecast to be pretty grim weatherwise so I intend to gather my stash & replay last nights craft along. Barbara had such fun last night & made the process look quite easy to follow so I wonder what will emerge from my inky gel press ? We will see later !!

Thank you for your Saturday Share and enjoy your concert! I eventually got to see Michael Buble ( we were originally due to see him in June 2020) last year with my husband and Robbie Williams last October. Both were brilliant ! I’ve been fortunate to see Elton John, Rod Stewart and Lionel Richie !

Lovely set of cards but how clever is the strawberry one! My very first concert was to see the Beatles in Southport when I was 14. At that time all the other big groups from Merseyside appeared in the same show – magic! My daughter worked for a record company for a number of years so we got to see lots of top acts for free – Kylie, Paul McCartney, Take That, Robbie Williams, Shirley Bassey, Norah Jones to name a few. We were very lucky. Hope you enjoy Beyoncé xx

Great blog – Thankyou for sharing your passion for Your favourite artist- enjoy the concert.

I’m not one for concerts these days, due to my bad back but did enjoy ‘Take That’ a few years ago. I went to a few in the 70’s- ELO, Kool and the Gang, George Benson. I wish I’d seen George Michael – I was a great Wham fan.

Great cards as always – congratulations to all those chosen and Thankyou to everyone that shares their makes, I love seeing them all.

    Thanks again Grace.

Hi there, lovely work as usual. Ordered a couple of things used among them in the sale !

Have a lovely time at the concert. I’ve never been to one in a big arena, don’t think I could cope with all those people ! I’ve seen Cliff Richard, David Essex, Elki Brooks at our local theatre and I saw Merril Osmond earlier this year at our theatre but he was in the audience of the Osmond Story.

I did see David Cassidy (my idol amongst others) on stage but that was his later years in Blood Brothers with Clodagh Rogers (bet you don’t remember her!) only went because it was David (couldn’t believe I’d see him in the flesh!) in it but fell in love with Blood Brothers, know all the words to the songs and have seen it 5 or 6 times in Oxford, it’s back this year but I’m not going again …. Yet! Seen it with a couple of the Nolan sisters playing the female lead. If you haven’t seen it please do !

Look forward to hearing about Beyoncé ! X

My favourites have always been Bon Jovi and in 1992, when I lived in South Africa, I sat on the pavement outside the booking office overnight, to buy tickets for myself and my daughters, who are also fans. My mum, who also loved them, but lived in the UK, didn’t speak to me on the phone for a week, as she was so jealous! I have seen them twice at the MK Bowl since I came back to the UK and I still love their music. I would still queue all night to see them and I am almost 73 😂 Enjoy Beyoncé and I look forward to hearing all about it in your blog. X

Thanks so much for including my card in this week’s share – it’s always such an honour! I’m loving the selection, many of these passed me by, as I’ve not been keeping up just lately (too busy with new puppy!)
Favourite singer? It has to be Frank Sinatra – and I was lucky enough to see him in concert in London a few times in the ’80s. I still vividly remember the very first time – we’d got Standing tickets, right up at the top of the Royal Albert Hall – went with my Dad. We queued round the Hall and, when they opened the doors, Dad grabbed my hand and we ran up the stairs to secure a good vantage point! They don’t make ’em like that anymore!

Another gorgeous collection of cards. I especially like the key rings, seems a great idea to use up small pieces. Thank you Grace for including my card for my new grandson. It is a lovely feeling when your card gets picked, as never expect it too. x

Beautiful artwork as always! Hope you enjoyed your concert. My favourite concert was Capitol Radios Party in the Park. My friend won VIP tickets and we had a ball, met Suggs, and sat 2 rows behind HRH!!! But I also loved seeing Elton John and taking my great niece to see her first concert, Take That. She’s just taken her teenager daughter to her first concert, The Killers – that makes me feel old!!!

I’m sure you’ll have a brilliant time at the concert. I must confess I had to look up Beyonce to see who she was!! I’d heard the name but couldn’t put a face to it. I am not a fan of most modern music, much preferring Mozart, and other classical composers and the only concerts I’ve been to have been symphony concerts! There have been a few classical artists (instrumental and singers) I’ve been to see, but no love affairs! It has been lovely to see more inky cards this week. As a non groover but a keen stamper/stenciller/die cutter I confess to looking at cards with those techniques and working out how they’ve been done. I’m sure I’ll read about the concert when I look at next week’s blog!
