Our dear, talented friend, Pat Hosking…

Hello. Grace here.

I hope this finds you well, safe, and enjoying your Saturday morning.

While Mum and Dave join dear Pat’s family and friends today, in her home of Helston in Cornwall, to celebrate her formidable life, how about we too pause for a moment, to remember our dear Pat, and enjoy her beautiful artwork.

Her funeral will be taking place at noon today. Mum has suggested that we all light a candle at 12pm and pause for thought for our dear friend, Pat Hosking. I have gathered a bunch of her incredible artwork to share with our Clarity, Pergamano, and Groovi family. She really was such a talented woman. I’ll let her artwork speak for itself…

What a treasure. Please leave a comment of love and appreciation for Pat, her talent, her commitment to craft, and her lovely family, who no doubt are feeling this loss so very deeply.
To know Pat is to love her. And to be impressed by her.

WE LOVE YOU, PAT! Rest in peace.

Lotsa love, Grace, Barbara, and everyone at Clarity xo

I never had the privilege of actually meeting Pat, but she was a remarkable lady who produced some fantastic artwork as we have just seen above. I’m sure her family and friends will miss her terribly but I’m sure they will draw comfort from knowing just how much respect and love people had for their mum. Rest in Peace Pat, you will be missed xx

What a fantastic collection of artwork from a wonderful lady, who was always there in the SHAC & like many of us learnt new skills through lockdown & beyond. She often posted work saying I am not a stamper but I have had a go !! She was prepared to give new things ago right up until the end so if nothing else we should try to live the same way & never say I can’t but instead say I have tried. Will be thinking of all her family & friends gathered in Cornwall today but also all the friends she has around the world. RIP Pat.
Thank you Grace for gathering all Pat’s artwork into one place for everyone to see xx

Like most, I’ve never met Pat but I have some of her early designs in the pergamano parchment magazine which I collected when I first started parching. Thank you for sharing the above inspiration. I’m sure her family will gain comfort in knowing how her beautiful talent touched others in a positive way.

Thanks, Grace. Fantastic collection. Very inspirational, as Pat was.
I met her at Brunel Station, Temple Mead, Bristol about 13 years ago, and bought some of her traditional parchment patterns.
She gave me her address and told me to ask her for help anytime.
    I will treasure the memories.
    RIP Pat x

This brought tears to my eyes, to see such beautiful work and memories of the shac to think she was doing this with us (and better than me that’s for sure!). There’s one piece there that I thought was embroidery at first and had to do a close up to check it was parchment alone. You can see why she wanted colours worn today. What an inspiration. RIP Pat and deepest sympathy to her family and friends. X x x

How lovely to see all Pat’s wonderful talent showcased today. I met her last year at the Clarity open day. I was feeling proud of myself for travelling “all the way” from The Midlands….then discovered that Pat had travelled from Cornwall! I really hope that her send off today was all that her family had hoped it would be, and that they will draw comfort from the loving vibes sent from her Clarity pals. Rest in Peace Pat x

Hat`s of to you Grace for compiling ( a fraction ) I am sure of Pat`s work, it goes through the whole range of crafting and on some of Pat`s Parchment work I thought some of it was embroidered, a truly gifted women. I didn’t have the pleasure of meeting Pat personally, but I saw her at my first Clarity Open Day last year talking to many people. The wonderful gallery Grace has kindly collated here is a testament to her amazing talent. Pat shares her first name with my own dear mother, whom I lost 12 years ago and miss every single day that passes.

To Pat’s family and friends I send my sincere condolences, and keep in mind that the dark days of raw early grief will pass and the light of good memories and laughter will shine through in time as you learn to live with her loss. Pat has left her mark on the world and leaves us all with a wonderful legacy of her art.

May Pat Rest In Peace and may God bless Pat, her Family and Friends at this sad time. xx

I only had the pleasure of meeting Pat once and that was at the open day last year. I recognised her and approached her to say hello and she seemed to know my name. We chatted briefly and in that short time I could tell what a lovely lady she was.
More so of course like many of us, I admired her work which she shared on Facebook. It’s funny how some names just stick in your mind and I remember thinking -oh there’s another beauty by Pat. She just seemed to be able to master every craft. Such a Talent! It was great to be reminded of some of her creations above – Thankyou Grace for sharing. RIP dear Pat – we will miss your presence in our Clarity family.

I never got to meet Pat but I admired her work and when I put a picture of one of my first pieces of groovi she commented on it. I was tickled pink that she had seen it and what I thought of as being a very novice piece she had taken the time to comment. May you rest in peace Pat.
