Nice Weather For Ducks

Greetings, Clarity crafters. And welcome to the Clarity Matters blog. It’s Tuesday and it’s WET.

Wet is good though. You can’t go wrong with a good walk in the rain. Or a good cosy up on the sofa with a film while it chucks it down outside. And it’s nice to know that the ducks are happy. Speaking of which, there is a good song about ducks. It’s by a band called Lemon Jelly and you can listen to it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kihhcgkxgck

Also, since I’m feeling rather soggy (even though I’m quite dry in my office), here’s a picture of our fish tank. It’s used to be in the kitchen opposite a large, sunny, south-facing window, so naturally, it accumulated a lot of algae. So we moved it into the living room and I took girl child (while the boy had a nap) to go and buy a snail. It’s called a Zebra Nerite snail and he survives by suck on the algae. Win-win! Of course, you can’t drive five miles just to buy a £2 snail. So we also came home with a little shoal of Glowlight Tatras, which are pretty cool. They have bright orange stripes down the side that glisten in the light, and when you look at them head-on, they have bright orange dots above their eyes which look like beaming headlights!

Do you see the ‘headlights’ on the Tetras? You can also see Elsa and Olaf to the right (guess who named those two? There was an Ana, but she went the way of the world). And, a little bit blurry, to the top left is Dr. Octagon, the Doctor fish.

And, it takes a little bit of concentration, but if you look hard enough, you can even see the little snail. Why not leave me a comment about where you think he’s hiding?

Alright, enough about Scarlett’s fish tank. Time to get down to business. And today’s business is YouTube Tuesday.

This week, fo YouTube Tuesday, we thought we’d stick to the Christmas bauble theme running in the Clarity SHAC Shack.

Last year, Barb put together this sublime tutorial, featuring the Christmas Baubles stamps she designed. And they are beautiful indeed. The Bauble stamps are 2-way Overlay stamps, and Barb’s exquisite technique combines both versions in a super creative way. So clever, yet so simple. Mind blown!

why not click the banner above to watch now, and to pick up the essential supplies needed for the project at 20% OFF on our website?!

Well, that’ll do from me. Hope you enjoy the tutorial. Also, don’t forget to keep an eye out on the blog throughout the week. We have some VERY exciting things coming up next week and you’re gonna want to make sure you DO NOT miss out on the info… 😉

Bye for now!

No time to watch the tutorial now but will catch up later. Love the fish tank. I thought I had found the snail but it was part of the apparatus. Never mind.

Love these Christmas bauble stamps. Am planning to start on my Christmas cards this week with these. Can I see the snail hiding in the rock at the front of the picture?

Great fish tank, my old eyes couldn’t find the snail. My Grandad had a whole room with various tanks and many varietes of fish. As a kid I think my favourites were the Tetras and the Angel fish. I used to love it when he asked me to go to the local fishery to buy new ones. What a treat for a 7 year old.

Hi Alison, yes, you’re right. Apologies about that, the link didn’t update as quickly as I’d expected. Should be there now 🙂

Enjoyed the tutorial but why are the brushes on offer? Not that I’m complaining as they are a great product – but they aren’t used. I think you are testing if we are awake. I used to love the fish shop. All those tanks to admire.

Love the video of the Christmas baubles-they are beautiful!
My husband had a big fishtank with also the Tetra’s. They are beautiful fish to watch.
The snail,I think, is hiding behind the rock at the right side where that ‘big’ fish is swimming.
It’s raining here in Drenthe/the Netherlands and it’s cold outside too.
Happy inside to do my baubles and stars and snowflakes!
      Greetings, Trijntje Huppel

There used to be a link to other YouTube videos when you accessed youtube via the top down menu on the clarity website – click here. It has disappeared and it is now so difficult now to access other clarity videos. Is it possible to have the link reinstated, please? I had hoped to watch lots of them while on holiday. Hope you can help. I’m not sure how much work is involved in that. Hope it is simple to do. Thanks. Hx

Hi Hilda, I don’t organise the website myself, so I’ll see if Steve/Jim knows anything about that. You can view every single Clarity YouTube video on YouTube itself, right here: https://www.youtube.com/user/Claritystamp/videos?view_as=subscriber I hope that helps. You might have to scroll past all the SHAC videos, but there will be everything you need on there somewhere 🙂

Love the fish. I also have a tank and made the mistake a couple of years ago, of buying 3 different kinds of snails -I thought they wouldn’t reproduce as they weren’t the same kind -WRONG!!! I’m still removing several snails a day, even though the parents have long gone. I also bought 2 bristle-nose fish (large black suckery things that clean up beautifully) and was told they were the same sex. Now I have at least 60 bristle-nose fish in my tank in all shades from pale pink, through greys to black. All offspring of the original pair. t first they ate all their babies, until a couple escaped and somehow I suddenly had dozens. The fish shop has taken back broods of various fish before and were due to take my bristle-babies , but lockdown beat me and now they I can’t get there. The fish are quite happy and fun to watch and I have the cleanest tank around, but I would love to take in some of the rapidly growing youngsters!! I can’t see your snail!

I love these bauble 2 way stamps and I love the things that Barbara shows us how to achieve. She does make it look very easy. xxx

I love the fish tank. I used to have tropical fish and my favourite fish that we had was a Chinese Siamese Fighting Fish (not that he ever had a fight). They are so beautiful with floaty fins. Mine was a blue one and He would swim to the top of the tank and i would hold his food and he would nibble it out of my fingers. Sooooo cute.
I think your little snail is on the big rock sort of in the middle of the picture, to the left of the stone and Ariel and to the right of the green ball in the middle. I think he is on his way to visit Ariel who could do with a bit of algae removal.
    Love & Hugs

After looking up a Zebra Nerite snail, I knew what I was looking for!
I think he’s under the orange and black fish, behind the curled over leaf.
