Pergamano Embossing tools:
3mm (PER-TO-70005-XX)

Semi-Circle Perforating Tool (PER-TO-70017-XX)
Amazonia Companion Paper (ACC-CA-31662-88)
6 X 6 White Card Blank (ACC-CA-31671-66)
Roll-A-Tape – Double Sided Adhesive (ACC-AD-31146-XX)
An old saucer or shallow dish
A damp sponge
Small pot of water
Method
Step 1. Attach the parchment over the Pretty Poppy Plate and start off by embossing the petals of the flowers with the number 3 tool. Leave out the lines within the petals. You only need to see a faint outline of those petals. Then use the number 2 tool to emboss the dots in the border and the leaves. Use the number 1 tool for the rest of the design.
Step 2. Emboss all dots in the border, the leaves and base of the petals. Start with the 3mm ball tool – do two layers of embossing, then move down to the 1.5mm to sharpen up the edges. Remember to leave some time in between layers of embossing for the parchment to rest.
Step 3. Scribble a small amount of Dorso crayon onto the Oil Mix Mat. Drop a little Dorso oil next to it and blend out the colour with some of the oil on a blending nib. Working on the back first, coat the petals with a light layer of colour. Without adding more colour to the nib, apply some more to the front of the work. The oil in this layer protects the parchment from moisture when painting.
Step 4. Dampen a sponge and set it onto a saucer or shallow dish and get a small pot of water for cleaning your brush. When you clean your brush, wipe it onto the sponge and as you wipe, twist the brush so that the bristles form a sharp point.
Step 5. Scribble some A7 pencil onto the water mix mat, dampen the brush in the water pot and mix up the water colour paint. Wash the brush, wipe it on the sponge, twisting the brush to a point. Pick up a little paint and very lightly paint from the outer edge inwards, just with the very tip of the brush. Just use little flicking motions. Go around all the petals like this.
Step 6. Scribble the number 10 pen onto the mix mat. Pick this up with the damp brush in the same way as you did with the water colour pencil. Now use the very tip of the brush to darken the edges of the petals, taking a few lines of colour down the petal tool. Practice on the edge of the parchment before you go in on the flower.
Step 7. Switch to B pencils – numbers 5 and 7. Colour in the margins on the back and blend them out with Dorso oil and blending nibs. Colour in the thin margins with the Perga Colour Exclusive pen number 10.
Step 8. Use the Semi-Circle tool, alternating between that and the 2-Needle Fine tool. Lay the work (face up) onto a picot foam mat and shallow perforate the corners. By using the semi-circle, then the 2-Needle tool, hooking the first needle into the last hole, you will get the perfect spacing to add a second row of semi-circle perforations.
Step 9. When you put the next row of semi-circles in, look for the top two holes in the first row of perforations. This is where you need to place the first and last needles of the tool to make the next perforations.
Step 10. There are lots of tuitional blogs to show you how to emboss within the perforations of a border. Just remember that you need to start with a 3mm ball tool – do three light layers. Define the edges (near the perforations) with a 1.5mm ball tool and it should be ready to deeply perforate and snip out.
Step 11. Cut a piece of companion paper to 12cm x 12cm square and attach the parchment with a brad at each corner. Attach it to a 6 x 6 inch white card blank.
What a GORGEOUS card! I love Glynis’s artwork.

Lovely project, thank you Glynis and Grace, didn’t think of using Dorso oil like that so learnt something this morning ! Have a good day xx
Thanks Grace, a beautiful project from Glynis this week, a bit more advanced but not impossible with the great step by step instructions. I will definitely give it a go but I need to finish off a few projects first that are more time critical.
A very busy week ahead so look forward to seeing what you have in store for us. C&C have no programmes listed at the moment & as they are only available for 7 days afterwards this will make recording difficult for those of us not able to watch live especially if we are away from home on holiday. Not impressed with the new regime/website but someone must think its a good idea !!
Have a good week everyone xx
So pretty! One to try, definitely. Thanks Glynis. X
