Happy Days Clarity Days! DAY 2: A Step-by-Step Project by Dee Paramour – Day 2, Blog 3

Still here? So are we!

As Josie Davidson takes a well earned tea break this afternoon, Dee Paramour is stepping in! Oh I love Dee. Say hello!

The lovely Dee!

Dee has been kind enough to prepare a wonderful step-by-step project for you! And boy is it beautiful…

Enjoy!

INGREDIENTS

  • NDC Stamp Issue 155 or any silhouette stamp
  • Versamark Inkpad INK-VE-50221-XX

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Trim off two sides of the stencil card to make it slightly smaller. Ink up the flower stamp with the Versamark Inkpad. Use an antistatic bag, cornflower or talc over the stencil card then stamp on the edge of the card, apply the embossing powder and heat set. Repeat twice more always keeping to the edge. Apply a light layer of the distress inks over the card in patches. You can ignore the middle as we will be covering this up.
  • Stamp and emboss three more flowers and apply another light layer of ink as before. The idea is to slowly build up the colour and to have the flowers different colours.
  • Repeat the above until all the edges are covered. Apply more ink so its nice and bright. Buff any residue ink off the embossed images.
  • Spritz water all over the inked card. Allow to dry naturally if possible. You can force dry but be very careful to keep the heat tool a good distance away from the card so you don’t re-melt the embossed flowers. Once dry clean off any ink on the embossed images.
  • Stamp the text onto stencil card using the Sky Blue Archival Inkpad. Make sure you leave enough room round it for the die.
  • Die cut the text out using the 7th nested die in, then cut two more circles using the 6th and 5th dies in form the stencil card.
  • Use the three Distress inkpads and brush a different colour round the edge of circle.
  • Fix the backgound piece to a 7×7 card blank then layer up the circles centrally on the card.
Voila!

Rather beautiful, right? Dee is incredibly talented, as well as very kind. I’m quite proud to be presenting all of these wonderful ladies’ projects. I would love to see you have a crack at them! Any or all of them. Please feel free to email them to me (grace@claritystamp.com) with the subject ‘Dee Paramour/Josie Davidson/Sam Crowe/Sarah Brennan/Jane Telford – inspired card’. You never know, I might just showcase them 😉

Another opportunity to win some freebies, did I hear you say?

Alrighty! It’s Solstice today! Did you know? This is the longest day (most daylight hours) of the year for people living in the northern hemisphere. It is also the day that the Sun reaches its highest point in the sky. The winter solstice, or the shortest day of the year, happens when the Earth’s North Pole is tilted farthest from the Sun.

Leave a comment below to not only let us know what you think of Dee’s brilliant project but also tell me what your favourite summer activity is! We may not be able to do them now, but even thinking about them might bring some joy!

I will put all of your names in a raffle and will pick out 3 winners to win this FABULOUS ‘Make A Wish’ stencil set! I figure that if we all wish hard enough for our favourite summer activities, we might help the universe make them happen!

Make A Wish!

Don’t forget to check out our Open Day 25% off Sale!

I’ll be back 😉

Lotsa love, Grace xoxo

Our favourite summer activity would be spending time on a boat on the Norfolk broads, we were hoping to do a trip down memory lane on the broads this year after 21 years away from there. Love these demonstrations and realise I need more stamps from clarity now. And wouldn’t they be lovely to be doing on the water sitting watching the wildlife,

Nothing feels better than Looking in the garden and seeing the results. Love being able it’s share plants with my neighbours and all working together to make our front gardens look cheery. Xx

Just been down, sweet peas, pinks, alstroemerias, roses and Canadian. Not to mention the veg and my first beetroot. How I wish I could share the flowers with everyone. Lots of flowery love

Love the card – it is beautiful! It looks like fun to make and the instructions are great! I also love the stencils in this giveaway. The hares are some of my favorite creations. As for summer – now that I am in the blast furnace time of my life, indoor crafting is my joy. Especially living in the southeastern part of the U.S. 😂

We used to have a motorhome & head off round the country, sometimes researching my family history or attending craft workshops but now we use accommodation. There are lots of lovely spots around the UK that we haven’t been to yet but hopefully we will be able to soon.

My favourite colour combination and a stamp and pads I have, so I can try it too -that’s the very best kind of step by step and the result is a stunner that will do for so many occasions, or just because…

My thing to do in summer? Avoid the sun and walk in the cool woodland behind me, then sit on a log while the dogs have a mooch, and soak up the bird-song, scents of nature, and the multitude of greens in dappled sunlight. Heaven.

    Hi Grace
Dee has made such a beautiful card with great instructions, I might give it a go next week and get out my comfort zone. One of my favourite summer activities is having a big family BBQ for my aunties birthday ( used to be for my mums birthday too in years gone by), chance to catch up with my cousins too. Won’t happen this year but I’m going to bake some scones and leave afternoon tea for auntie and uncle on the doorstep next week instead as lockdown has been very hard for them both and they are still shielding .

I think that the project is beautiful, Dee certainly has the creative flair to present wonderful projects which we can all try and produce a lovely result. My favourite summer activity is to walk my dog, early in the morning, before the tourists are up and about, head to the beach and simply soak up the warmth, sight and sounds of nature and the fresh, sea air. Nothing to beat it – particularly when you need ‘me time’.

Harvest. I ate my first spinach and raspberries of the year this week. I am so lucky to have it this year but had last year’s seeds etc, so didn’t hit the shortages. I divvied up the extras with neighbours so will need new supplies next year but hopefully there won’t be the same panic. You never lose the wonder of seeds becoming a meal. Summer is bountiful.

What a great project. I’ve ordered some distress oxides (not these colours though) but I’ll give it a go when they arrive. I love playing badminton all year round but this has been on hold since Hubby tore his achilles tended in two places last August (just before a milestone birthday for me). In the summer I love to go fishing (yes females do fish). Surprisingly it’s not just sitting there; you are on the go quite a lot changing bait, watching the float, or the end of your tip (depends what type of fishing you are doing). In between there is feeding the ducks with spare bait or the sparrows/robins who are quite cheeky try and steal your fresh bait! Haven’t been fishing since lockdown as the local ponds are too busy but have made plenty of cards.

My favourite summer activity is probably just going for walks, which fortunately is one thing I can still do at the moment. It’s been quite lovely to discover all sorts of little paths and trails in my local area over the last few months, and today I had a nice trundle around a nearby lake. It’s so pleasant to hear the birds singing, enjoy finding which flowers are blossoming, and to occasionally see a cute critter – yesterday I encountered a black squirrel with a white tuft at the end of his tail, so sweet!
