Happy Days Clarity Days! A project by Tina Cox – Day 2, Blog 4
Hello hello! Guess who?!
How are your feet feeling? Well, good! Because there is one upside to not being actually at a Clarity Open Day! You’re not on your feet all day! We’re bringing it to your home as much as possible. I haven’t done an exhibition or open day in a while due to living in America! But I have NOT forgotten. Ally Pally, the NEC, Harrogate, the SEC, Doncaster, Stevenage… I’ve done them all. And even my then teenage legs were like NAH MATE at the end of the day. We must look for the silver linings 😉
But gosh this virtual town hall is chockerblock full of talent isn’t it?! When you come next year, you’ll know many of the crew. Not all, but many!
Of course it’s no surprise who else has made time to spend with us on this lovely Saturday… The beautiful Tina Cox is here!
In her own words ‘I love cake. Cake and chocolate are my favouritest (yes she wrote favouritest) things in the world … I’m pretty sure they rate higher than my kids’.
Savage. She’s a very funny woman. And very loving.
And she’s silly generous, as some of you already know! So she’s done TWO step-by-step projects today. Wowza. I’ll showcase one full project here, but you can find the other on her BRILLIANT blog (along with other wow projects!). Because quite frankly… she writes them up prettier than I could anyway!
Really do check out her blog! Just look at this mini gallery of her recent work!
PROJECT 1
Groovi Plates:
Step 1: Emboss the 3rd from outside double square outlines and scallops from the Nested Scallops Squares Extension plate using the Pergamano 1mm embossing ball tool (or Groovi No.1).
Step 2: Emboss the floral design from the Tina’s Floral Spray plate using the Pergamano 1mm embossing ball tool (or Groovi No.1).
Step 3: Emboss the tag from the Nested Arch Tags plate around the floral design using the Pergamano 1mm embossing ball tool (or Groovi No.1).
Step 4: Emboss lines, scallops and dots from the Nested Scallops Squares Extension plate as seen on the photo using the Pergamano 1mm embossing ball tool (or Groovi No.1).
Step 5: Emboss the floral border from the Nested Arch Tags plate using the Pergamano 1mm embossing ball tool (or Groovi No.1).
Step 6: Emboss lines, scallops and dots from the Nested Scallops Squares Extension plate below the floral border using the Pergamano 1mm embossing ball tool (or Groovi No.1).
Step 7: Emboss the grid design over the Straight Super Fine A4 Groovi Piercing Grid plate using the Pergamano 1mm embossing ball tool (or Groovi No.2). If you want larger dots, use the Straight Basic Bold A4 Groovi Piercing Grid plate (GRO-GG-40528-17) and the Pergamano 1.5mm embossing ball tool (or Groovi No.2).
Step 8: On the back, colour the tag and flower border with Pergaliner B pencil (B14) and blend with Dorso oil.
Step 9: Still on the back, colour the flowers, leaves and between the double square outlines with Perga Colours Exclusives (No.5, No.9 and No.17).
Step 10: From the front, perforate inside the scallops and outside the main card using the Pergamano bold 2-needle perforating tool and picot cut between the perforation.
To finish: Mount the piece on Rainbow River designer paper using brads and stick it on white card. Stick a bow at the top using a glue dot.
Whoa! She makes it look easy, but she’s insanely skilled.
You can find her other project from today HERE 🙂
If you don’t know Tina Cox, you should. She’s a big part of our design team, and you’ll often see stamps, stencils & groovi plates named Tina’s this and Tina’s that. She designed those! Everyone loves a bit of Tina!
For this blog, I’m giving away a Deluxe Groovi Starter Kit
To be in for a chance of winning this, take a guess at what my favourite design of Tina’s happens to be. It has featured in quite a few blogs of mine!
Leave your guess in the comments below and I’ll put correct answers into a raffle, and pick a winner to receive the kit. If you don’t have it already, lucky you. If you do, what a gift it will make for someone you know!
In fact, here’s a video of me earlier in the year (you know, before life imploded) using this exact kit!
Get t’guessing!!
I am done for the day! All blogged out 🙂
