Let’s Unbox This!

Hello hello! Grace back again.

Firstly, thank you SO much for such a warm welcome to blogging! I fully expected to be talking to myself for the first few months, and that is NOT the case at all.

I really enjoyed reading all of your comments and replies on this blog (and Facebook). We’re all in it together really, aren’t we? It seems I am not alone in my opinions on mindfulness, why you might craft, and how it can help. I LOVED reading your responses. Every single one.

So, thank you again.

I have since also decided that I accidentally lied to you when I said I didn’t have a habitual hobby. Whoops! Does listening to audiobooks count? According to my Audible account, I have listened to 5 days, 23 hours and 13 minutes worth. That’s over 140 hours of books! And I only joined in 2019.

The only reason I became aware of this… My headphones ran out of battery last week, and I suddenly noticed how strange it felt to have to listen to the outside sounds of the real world for awhile.

It was refreshing.

But also didn’t take long for that pesky inside voice to pipe up and start stressing me out! SO… I suppose I listen to audio books rather obsessively. Because if I’m listening to someone else’s story, I’m not giving my mind the opportunity to create it’s own! Or wander, or spiral, or drift towards negative thoughts. Not so different to all the other hobbies we talked about really, is it?

Harry Potter audiobooks AND crafting sound like a winning combination to me!! And if you know me already, you’ll know that alongside Clarity, I work in Voice Over too. And so I regard that 140+ hours of listening as easy research for something I already love to do! And I can do it whilst commuting, cleaning, crafting. It’s all productive. It’s all healthy. Just like Clarity.

In my journey to start crafting with you, I decided to start with Groovi! And where better a place to start than with the starter kit! Check out my first unboxing video below, where I have a go at using my first Groovi plates!

If I’ve piqued your interest, and you’d like to get yourself a Groovi Starter Kit, then just click here for our webstore, or here for our Amazon US store.

Thank you for joining me. I’ll be back on Thursday with something funny 😉

Lotsa Love, Grace xoxo

    Hi Grace,
You really do blog like your mum. Mindfulness! Mindfulnes! Mindfulness! I regularly lose the argument then I know it’s time to groovi.
Keep up the good work, I enjoy both your blogs, and clarity matters.

I started Groovi a year ago and just love it. It’s a very mindful craft. You have to pay close attention, but not so much that you can’t enjoy a podcast or TV. It calms me down and lets me create beautiful things.

I enjoyed the unboxing and watching you create your first design. So glad to see Claritystamp Limited in Amazon. I can finally purchase parchment from you (shipping paper from England is expensive as it is so heavy). The parchment Clarity sells is much better than anything I’ve been able to find in the US.

I love Harry Potter too and have them in many forms, just listening to them (again). I read all sorts, only just recently started listening to audio books while I craft as I usually love to sing along with my playlist as I do mine! Loved the video. Xx

Thrilled to see that you have jumped on to the Groovi bandwagon with the rest of us. I have recently started listening to audiobooks as well. They go along with Groovi crafting perfectly! Watched your first video and loved it!

Hi Grace, I’m an Audible member and always have a book on the go. I don’t read as much theSe days but always on holiday and in the garden in the summer. It’s good to have audio though. That’s something you should put yourself forward for ! It would,be lovely to listen to you reading to me ! If I can’t sleep you can bet your life I’ve nodded off before the 30 min timer goes off and i have to rewind the next day! X

Great job … I am USA St. Louis and been a Groovi lover for a couple of years now. With parchment and Groovi not being a big thing in the states I think it is going to go crazy when people find out there is a totally NEW medium in the USA. So excited !!! Excellent idea for your first craft video to be Groovi 😀

Dear Grace. I have been looking earlier for your blog, thoroughly enjoyed it. And the video, you are perfect for that. I am sure your Mum will be very proud of you. The little girl laughing, was that you. I your have been crafting in some way most of my life. A friend started me on cards, and used to talk a lot about Barbara and Clarity. I finally got to meet your Mum at a show in Port Sunlight. At the very beginning of Groovi. Still have the piece your Mum did for me. Now thoroughly enjoy making cards, find parchment lovely to work with, but an awful lot to learn. Enjoy your new adventure and look forward to your blog. Xxxxxx

Look forward to seeing your blogs. I love reading your mums every day. Once you start Groovi, you won’t be able to stop. I call it, The I Will Never Have Any Money Again Club. I really do spend a lot on it. And now that there is Groovi embroidery, well I just haven’t stopped doing it. Now that is ADDICTIVE. It helps me with depression and anxiety.
