Orders Galore Part 2/Trap the Scrap!

Hello everyone! Jordan here, enjoying a relaxing Saturday and hoping you are, too.

Clarity packages ready to go
We can see the floor again!

Thanks to those of you who sent an email or left a comment about your Clarity packages and parcels. We had lots of comments and messages saying you had already recycled or reused your packages from the birthday week orders, and that really brings a smile to our face. We love to hear that our Clarity crafters are conscientious and thoughtful enough to not only recycle packaging correctly, but also that you use these materials to craft with.

We’d love to hear more on this; What do you recycle or re-use in your crafting? Cardboard packaging as card backing? Plastic packaging as paint pallets? Or even more creatively, perhaps in a mixed media or collage project? Drop a comment and let us know!

In the spirit of upcycling and thoughtful crafting, take a look at these ‘Trap the Scrap ‘ videos from our Fresh-Cut Die series. Trap the Scrap is Barb’s nifty way of putting it; using those scrap items in your crafting. Lots of mixed media crafting really lends itself to this ideal, using materials creatively to avoid waste, and to create unique and dramatic looking images and effects. Die Cutting projects are absolutely ideal for this, too, as often only a small amount of craft card or designer paper is required to create an image using a Die.

Lastly, for those who tuned in to yesterday’s Christmas One Day Special on Hochanda, click here for a set of embroidery instructions for the fantastic Embroidery Groovi plates from the show.

Clarity Matters. It really does.

Enjoy your Sunday. And of course, Happy Crafting!

I save all the plastic packaging to use in either shaker cards, or for storing stamped Masks onto.

I’ve had a notification that my bumper orders from the birthday weekend are now on their way. I like using cardboard to die cut shapes for adding to mixed media projects or as a base to work on too. Lots more material on its way! Super service as always from Clarity.

    Hi Jordan and co
Suki one of my cats just loves it when my clarity orders come in what I call cardboard envelopes the ones that have a cardboard centre that seals one way and the outer section seals the opposite way
Sorry I have probably confused everyone now
Suki claims it as soon as I have removed my goodies so not only is it a happy post for me but a happy post for Suki to
She won’t let the other 2 Willow and Tia go on it
Recycled clarity cardboard in to a Suki bed lol
Thank you to everyone one at clarity for all your hard work I do appreciate it very much

I just want to thank Clarity so much for replacing my HOCHANDA Fresh Cut Die order that Hermes claimed to have delivered but hadn’t. I promise if the original package turns up I will return it to you.
Clarity really are the best for customer care.
    Thanks again.

      Hi Linda

Hermes delivered a parcel of mine the other side of town and to the wrong number! If you look at the delivery notification, you may find it has the wrong details on or at least the wrong postcode. The Post Office have a postcode finder online. Then you may be able to retrieve it. Goodness knows how they do that, as the invoice was right but they had changed the parcel postcode with a marker on the box. Perhaps they think we all want to be Miss Marple…

Forgot to say, Linda, that Hermes couriers take a picture of the door they have delivered to, so you can get the number by walking up the wrong postcode and spotting the door…

One of the other couriers uses your bin as a safe place…

          Hi Jordan and do
Yesterday I got my order for the paper pads bundle they are wonderful thank you to Barbara for designing them
The happy post came in what I call a cardboard envelope, the one with the inside section that fasten one way and the outer section fastens the other way, one of my cats Suki loves the cardboard envelope type of package and no one else is allowed to go on it as it’s Suki’s cardboard
So both me and Suki got a clarity happy post
The packaging then gets recycled as a Suki bed, she is easily pleased lol

i received my Birthday order yesterday, earlier than anticipated so a very big thank-you to all involved. Also thank-you so much for the colouring book that was added into my order, very special. I do re-cycle my packaging , if I can’t use it for a purpose then it certainly goes in the correct bin. xx

Packaging gets recycled in many ways. Waste not, want not.

I always keep padded envelopes and boxes and re-use wherever possible. If the envelopes are beyond reusing but contain a bubble wrap lining, I will ‘gut’ them and keep the bubble wrap. And even poor hubby has been instructed not to throw away the waxed bags that contain the cereal inside the cereal box carton. I wash these waxed sheets, dry them and cut them down to put between my DT samples when posting them in to the office. That way the samples are kept separate and there is no chance of any ‘gloopy’ finishes, sticking to another project!

I recycle the boxes by using them as a desk protector if I’m doing anything messy sometimes and a local group use them for “ arty” projects. Can I just say thank you for putting the link for the new embroidery plates instructions. Already printed them out ready for my plates to arrive.

My outer packaging goes into the recycling, but I have a big collection of the lovely sparkly blue paper that used to back Groovis (sadly now a shiny blue , but as I no long do Groovi it doesn’t matter to me) and the stiff plastic used on the stamps gets saved (my stamps go into your albums) and used as pockets front and back of the albums to keep articles pertaining to the stamps and other project notes, and the other pieces are used for other brand rubber stamps when I have to spray-glue the backs, the Clarity plastic makes excellent storage. I’ve die-cut plastic packaging to use in snow globes as well.

Hi Jordan – I use the dark blue inserts in groovi packs as backing papers and also for the reverse sides of my PTC swaps 😊
The boxes are an excellent art table for my young niece when she comes over for a craft day and the deep boxes make good storage trays.
I have a drawerful of the cellophane wrappers – haven’t found a use for those yet but they are too good to throw away and unfortunately can’t be recycled eithert.
Wish there was an alternative kind ….

Received my birthday parcel, well packed as usual. It was my birthday on the second of September too, (a darn sight older than Clarity) haha. Along with my birthday goodies was a lovely big folded piece of brown paper. This will come in very handy for wrapping around my cake tins (insulation) when making this years Christmas cakes. I come from the era of recycling before it became “fashionable”.

First of all I was very impressed with how quickly my order came. I live in the US and usually my Hochanda orders take 2 weeks. I got yours in only 6 days. The only problem is that because I now have free shipping, I’ve ordered twice more! I’m blaming it all on you of course. 😉

I immediately recycled the outer packaging. I keep my Groovi plates in the original cellophane packages in a few drawers in my craft room. My new groovi floral alphabet though came with the folder, so the cellophane from them will be given to a friend who sells decorations for scrapbooking pages. The paper sleeves will be put in the folder so that I can see the plates clearly.

    Hi Jordan
I love the quality of the packaging that Clarity uses, and so do my rabbits!!
I use the packaging to create tunnels and hidey holes for my rabbits to play in and because the quality is good they last for several weeks.
So once again thank you Clarity.
    Xxxxx

The only part of the packaging that I don’t like is the plastic wallet bit that hold the address label as I can’t find a way to recycle that!! Maybe Clarity could use sticky labels instead

    Xxxxx
