Groovi SHAC #001

Hello! Happy Friday 🙂 Grace here.

Another week down. We’re doing this thing aren’t we? We’re staying indoors, keeping safe and trying our best to maintain sanity throughout. And I think we’re doing a blimmin’ good job of it! Particularly our (not so) little craft community. The amount of doodles I wake up to every day is magical! (remember, I’m 5 hours behind most of you in England).

Some cool personal news… We got a car. It was about time, we had been discussing it, but the pandemic forced our hand. My Mark still has to go to work as his job is considered ‘essential’, and the subway was quickly not a safe option and after renting a shared car for a month (and having to disinfect it regularly) we decided it was time to rip the plaster/band-aid off.

So now we have a car. I’ve lived in New York City for 8.5 years without a car, and managed just fine. But times have changed. And we are very happy to have one now! Big smiles all around.

For the first time in 4 weeks, I ventured outside…*gasp* to let my fella pick me up and take me for a drive in his new wheels. And we decided to go into Manhattan to see how quiet it was, and how she was doing. It was really lovely to just SEE things. Don’t worry, we didn’t get out of the car. But we drove all through the city, to look at Times Square, Columbus Circle, Central Park etc etc. All from the safety of the vehicle!

It’s the little things now, isn’t it? I can’t remember the last time I felt that grateful to just go for a drive, or to simply see the things I’m used to seeing every day. Pure gratitude for that which we took for granted before.

Pure gratitude for that which we took for granted before.

Now, whilst doodling has taken off and we’ve been joined by literally HUNDREDS UPON HUNDREDS of new lovely Clarity members and doodlers… We haven’t forgotten about how to get Groovi, and how therapeutic THAT is and today our first ‘Groovi Download’ has launched.

It’s the Groovi SHAC, with download number #001!

If you’re already a pre-confessed Groovi addict and member of our family, this is for you. If you’re loving doodles, but fancy leveling up, this is also for you.

You can download your first free Groovi downloadable project here.

And… all of the products used in project #001 (most of you will already own) are on a special sale on our Clarity website! It’s even more inspiration and more fun to get involved in, should you so choose 🙂

I’ll be back tomorrow, on Saturday, to share my favorite cards of the week!

Stay safe, and be well. We just have to keep doing what we’ve been doing.

Lotsa Love, Grace xoxo

I saw your car video – lovely to get out. I was going to shop on my own but hubby decided his car needed an outing so he took me this week and just sat and waited. I’m so enjoying doodling – takes me back to being at school and what we used to do on covers of our school books. Looking forward to the Groovi, although I’ve been doing some of that as well. Off to download in a min. It’s raining here in oxford now but we’ve been so lucky with being able to sit out in the garden last week and this week that I really don’t mind – it means I can do more crafty stuff ! Have a lovely day. X

Happy Friday, Grace and everyone. I am so glad you and Mark have taken further steps to be safe with the car. How lovely to have a trip out. I am lucky to have a garden I am beating into shape. The rain has arrived just in time to water it. I must catch up with the doodling, so another reason to welcome the change in the weather.

Hi Grace Lovely for you to get out of the apartment but I bet it felt strange with not many cars & people about when it is normally a bustling busy city. Glad though that it means Mark can get to work safely now & that is one less worry for both of you & your Mom.
I have a busy weekend ahead with 3 shows on Hochanda to watch, both doodling & Groovi homework, craft projects from Maria to complete & I have got my sewing machine out. Took over what is normally the granddaughters bedroom/husbands office. I have tidied the desk so what more can he ask for but it means I can leave all my projects in place & flit between them all. I might even do the ironing as the ironing board is on the landing ready for pressing my sewing projects. No one can say I am bored with this lockdown !!
Will catch up with you tomorrow but hope you have a great weekend – is it roast potatoes again for Sunday lunch?

Good news about getting a car, much safer for Mark than the subway. The doodle sessions have been a life saver for many people, me included, and such a confident booster. You’ve got a clever Mum! (I know, I’ve said that before!) Like Sue said, we’ve got a busy weekend ahead, what with all the programmes to watch, doodling to catch up with and now a Groovi project.
Have a great crafty weekend. Xx

I am so glad that you have the car. It will be much safer for Mark to get to and from work. It must have been so nice to get out of the house for a while and explore Manhattan. #2 son was there briefly last year. He visited NY for the day while staying with a friend in Philadelphia. They went on an open top bus tour to make the most of their time. I would love to visit one day. Especially having read The Apple of my Eye by Helene Hanff (of 84 Charing Cross Road fame). It is a brilliant book. Stay safe both of you.

So glad you’ve been able to up yours and mark’s safety by having your own car. Is parking a problem where you live? We’ve just been given another 3 weeks in lockdown -how is yours going? have you been given an extension too? Although I don’t post my results (dodgy camera, no mobile phone) I love to see what everyone else is doing too.
    Keep safe.

That’s a great view isn’t it! I keep saying how grateful I am that we had our Summerhouse build and did the decking last year. I am also grateful that a week before lockdown I could my new large Ikea desk that spreads all the way under my window. The little things. I am also grateful that my Husband was sent home from his job in Africa 2 days before it would have been too late to get home! X
