May God Grant Always;
Hey! Grace here.
Forgive me, I’m not quite myself today. Usually I’m pretty focused and have great energy, but today I’ve been fannying around all day and forgetting what I’m doing in the middle of a task. With every task.
I know why. It’s no big mystery. It’s because my dear Oma is having her first hip replacement surgery today. And though I’m in New York, and she’s in England, and though I know she’s going to be absolutely fine, all of my positive energy and good vibes are over there in the Medway Towns with my Mum, Granddad and lovely Oma. They need it more than me today, you see.
It’s strange. I don’t feel nervous or scared. I just feel low on energy. Or a bit ‘spacey’ or depleted. Does that make sense? I have a feeling it’s because I’ve sent it all to them! That positive energy that people say I exude and my trusty guardian angels have all hopped over the pond, and are sharing space with my favourite and most beloved people. One will be sat with my Mum, making sure she stays strong and calm, for herself and the other two. One will have their arm around my lovely Granddad the whole time, as I think he gets silently nervous in these situations. And the rest of them (except for one that will have trotted off to Clarity Towers to guide my Uncle Steve through his day) will be huddled around my Oma making sure everything goes smoothly, and that she’s okay.

And until I get that positive phone call back from my Mum, they’ll stay there. And when that call comes, in a MOMENT, I’ll be replenished. I’ll be full of life and love and laughter (and focus) again. We all will.
It’ll all be good! But in the meantime, in-between-time, I’m looking at my phone rather obsessively and not getting anything done…
So! I started having a look through our inventory in the Clarity Amazon USA store and was reminded of a stamp we have. One that I absolutely love!

How appropriate! Here are some gorgeous and inspiring cards made by some of our lovely friends and customers.

These two samples use the same sentiment, but were created using the Groovi plate. You can pick up this variant of the design over at our webstore – just click here.

And just like that! The call just came, and my Oma is out of the surgery and okay π
I’ll leave a few of my guardian mates over there for a little while though, while she sleeps and heals, and everyone can breathe a little easier! I only need enough to get me back to doing work π

Please send lots of positive energy and prayers for the Matriarch of our family!
Lotsa Love, Grace xoxo

So glad that your Oma is out of surgery. Praying for you and for all the family here. Surgery is always an ordeal and particularly when you are that wee bit older. Hoping that your Oma goes from strength to strength now. Take care of yourself. Love to you and all the family. Hx
Hi Grace, it’s always worrying when our loved ones need surgery and thankfully it’s now over. I’m sure your Oma is quite a determined person (it seems to be a family trait) and will be back to her normal self as quickly as possible (despite her age). Love and fondest best wishes to all the family.
So pleased that everything went well Grace xxx
what a powerful blog, Grace. thoughts & prayers are with you all
Glad to hear the good news, Grace. I hope your Oma will find it is much easier to walk now with the pain of an unstable hip gone.
Best wishes to Oma and all the family. Lovely blog and really heart felt as just got my husband back from an operation. Thank you so much Grace x
Good that you posted this so that your whole community, myself included, can send loving and healing thoughts across the pond with yours to the family that we have grown to love. Hugs to get you through this difficult time of being so far away.
Thanks for yet another great blog & also for updating us on your Oma’s operation. I know how you feel, when waiting for news of any family member I find it hard to settle until I know all is well.
Hello Grace,
I am so glad to read the good news about your Oma. Once she is over the operation she will feel so much better to be out if pain.
Love

I am so pleased to hear that Oma has come through her hip replacement ok. I had one myself last year and can honestly say it was the best thing to happen to me. Hopefully it will give her the same results as myself. Gentle hugs coming to everyone
So glad that all has gone well. Praying for a speedy recovery for your Oma.
I love that stamp -recently bought it and can’t wait to play. Thanks for sharing the samples. So pleased your Oma is out of surgery and doing well. My dear friend (now almost 90) had both hips done, 6 months apart, 10 years ago and was out of hospital in 3 days with the first one and 2 days with the second. The important thing was to do the physiotherapy exercises, however much it hurts and however tired she feels. It is the key to getting a good result and be back on her feet in the shortest time. I wish you all content and peace.
Grace, as someone else who has many loved ones thousands of miles away, I totally get where you’re coming from with lack of energy or focus. Indeed, one of my dear ones also had a crucial appointment this morning, and I’m yet to hear from them, so still in that limbo phase.
Sending gentle hugs and prayers for Oma and your entire family xoxo
I understand that entirely Grace. In many ways because you are such a long way away it’s almost worse for you as you want to be at home but can’t be. But your Oma knows you are thinking about her and your mum knows you would be with her if you could be.
Glad you were able to tell us that Oma is through her surgery and now just has to recover. I bet once she’s better she’ll be dancing like a goodun!
Sending you lots of love and hugs Xxxx

Glad to hear your Oma is ok. It is always a worrying time when our loved ones need health care. A lovely lady and I wish her a speedy recovery. X X
Hello Grace, so glad to hear that the op went well for your Oma, and that your guardian Angels were where they were needed. I do know what you mean when you say you just feel depleted and lacking energy, and you used one of my favorite expressions – fannying around, when you just cannot settle on doing one thing from start to finish. I know it well. Take care all. Bx
So happy that you have had good news about your Oma. I know how you feel being so far away and relatively powerless in that sort of situation, but those positive vibes did their job. Wishing your Oma a speedy recovery x
