TV Preview/Picot Flowers Die & Groovi

Hey everyone, Stewart here. Happy Friday 🙂

Picot [ pee-koh ] is a word meaning “one of a number of ornamental loops in embroidery, or along the edge of lace, ribbon, etc”. According to the dictionary, at least. How many of you knew that? I didn’t. Though I probably should have. And I suppose it’s self-explanatory when you look at it.

Picot cutting, as I’m sure you’re aware, is a particularly beautiful, yet often tricky technique in parchment crafting. It’s a way to add detail to the edge of your designs and looks lovely when you cut out shapes using this technique. In parchment craft, picot cutting looks like little triangular points along the edge. And for those of you who’ve tried it, it can be difficult to master.

That’s where our amazing picot dies and picot Groovi Plates come in. First of all, die-cut your parchment using the dies from the set. Then, use the thin outline on the Groovi Plates to line up the edges before you complete the embossed design.

You could, also, emboss the thin outline on from the Groovi Plate and then picot cut the edge using snipping tools. But, however, you want to do it, our new Flowers and Leaves designs are a simple, easy and incredibly fun way to practise picot cutting, with instantly brilliant results.

Tune in this Sunday from 6pm for the big launch during our One Day Special with Barb and Paul!

We’ll be back tomorrow with another look at our upcoming TV schedule.

Clarity Matters. It really does.

Have a lovely Friday, all!
