Ello ello! Grace here.
Well, that little office revamp was a blast! The floor looks wonderful! I was quite excited to make todays blog about the FINAL RESULT! However…
I don’t know about you, but I have a project completion obsession. I wonder who I get that from? *Ahem* Barbara Gray much?
I LOVE a finished product, or completed card, a ticked-off list, a made bed, or finished job. Anything, as long as it’s complete! It reduces anxious feelings, for me, to get something done 100% and move on to the next thing. If I’m not going to finish the dishes, I’m certainly not going to start them! (folding laundry is a different story. Shush!)
Our management company seem to think the exact opposite way, unfortunately. So… although I’m beyond grateful for the new flooring, I can’t help but notice all the old wood and soggy debris that they dumped on our lovely terrace outside, instead of properly removing it from the building.
Or the lack of white paint job to cover the brown floor stain around the edges of the room.
Or most frustratingly… the big hole that they made in the wall, when they were reapplying the baseboards. So, I won’t show a picture of the end result, BECAUSE IT IS NOT THE END RESULT YET! 🙂
It’s not a big deal. I just have to revert back to my gratitude listing. And then put my armor back on, to deal with them in the nicest and calmest possible way. I won’t say this to them…
Like the lovely Roz said in the comment section of my last blog: “It’s not a brain tumor”. QUITE RIGHT. Talk about grounding. And this is where good ol’ gratitude AND laughter can come into play.
It will get sorted. And in the meantime it’s much more enjoyable to get grateful and laugh about it, than rail about how useless some people can be, or how you’d have done something differently. What’s the point?
So, I’ve put my massive desk back together… but have decided to stay in the kitchen for a few extra days! Why focus on or look at something that will ultimately just annoy you or bring you down?
The view is nicer from here anyway 🙂
Do you have any projects that need completing? Maybe a card that you got frustrated with, and decided you’d come back to? Or a January clear out of your clothes? Have you bought your Craft-Along-Kit for February yet? Or have you been putting it off?
Or maybe there’s just some pesky dishes in the sink that you’ve been ignoring to read this blog. This will be us when it’s all sorted!
I wonder what he accomplished.
Lotsa Love, Grace xoxo
