Saturday Share!

Hello hello! Grace here.

I hope this finds you happy šŸ™‚ And if not? Calm enough to try to turn your day around.

Personally, I am very happy! And I’m ready to yell it from the rooftops.

Suddenly, I’ve found myself 6 days away from England. And getting very excited! There’s lots to do. Lots to organise. It’s not like a normal trip; there’s tests to buy, more to pack and plan around etc.

Things are coming together nicely for a brilliant Summer! Within the next month I have plans to see Mum, my brother Mark, Dave, my Oma & Grandad, my Uncle Steve & Sheila and my best friend Lizzy! All in England. Shortly thereafter, from mid August, I have much-loved visitors coming to Brooklyn, and will finally get to see other family & friends that I also haven’t seen since 2019. So many things to look forward to all of a sudden.

I read somewhere yesterday that we’ve lost 4 million people to COVID. FOUR MILLION. I can’t even compute that level of loss properly. The tragedy of it. The sheer enormity of that number. I will continue to honor those lost, by continuing to behave safely, wear my mask in the required circumstances *proudly* and begin to enjoy the company of my loved ones, now that it’s allowed.

I think one of the best ways to honor the less fortunate is to not forget what has happened. To move forward cautiously, and with them in our memories. I lost a good friend (and voice over agent) in early 2021 to COVID, and I often find myself thinking ‘I’ll do this for Sandy, since he can’t’ or ‘This one is for you pal’. Let’s not forget them eh? And not just the few we knew and loved, the MILLIONS of those that we didn’t. And their loved ones left behind to survive the loss. There by the Grace of God go I. And we!

So yeah, to say the absolute least… I am over the moon to have dates marked in calendars and faces to see, family to hug, things to do. We’ll do all of it rather cautiously, because that’s just who we are. But WE ARE DOING IT!

This time next week, for my next ‘Saturday Share’ I will have just landed at the airport, met my little brother off of his incoming SF flight, got picked up by our Mum or Dave (or perhaps both?!) and will be sat in the kitchen nattering away with them. Fully vaccinated, with a fistful of tests and masks.

After 1.5 years. Blimey. We shall see if I get a Saturday Share done šŸ˜‰

So let’s have a brilliant one now! Have a look at these absolutely stunning pieces of artwork I found on Clarity Worldwide and Groovi Worldwide!

I could feel the excitement in your voice as I read your blog – exciting times ahead for all of you & if you don’t manage a blog over the next couple of weeks so be it. You deserve to switch off & share some quality time with the family. I know your Mom is getting very excited & I am sure she will be at the airport to meet you both with Dave alongside as the designated driver so she can chat with you on the way home.
Have a great time – as to packing make a list & tick it off as you pack as you can then see what needs to be added & not have to unpack to see if you have put something in.
    take care & bfn

Your excitement is a match for your Mum’s. I can see lots of hugs and happy tears when you meet at the airport. So great Mark can come too.
Please do not worry if you are too jet lagged to post a Saturdy share, just enjoy and make the most of the occasion. We will all still be here when you get back to Brooklyn.
    Safe journey next weekend.

I can almost feel the excitement when I read yours and your Mumā€™s posts about your impending visit. I can just imagine next Saturday! Your grandparents must be beside themselves at the thought of seeing you and Mark. One day I hope to be in the same position, as I havenā€™t seen my daughter and grandchildren for two and a half years and Canada have not yet opened their borders. Until the day comes, I shall share in your joy. Have a wonderful week of packing and anticipation! Hugs. Annette X

So happy that you’re finally getting together with family again after all this time – it’s got to be hard, at the best of times, being so far away but the restrictions of the pandemic must have made it that much worse. Strong family ties see us through, though – and yours are the strongest.
Delighted to see my own work amongst such illustrious company in this week’s Saturday Share – it’s a real thrill!

Who knew how much youā€™d (weā€™ve ) missed hugging little brothers. I saw mine last weekend and I think we hung onto each other for ages. The world has suffered incredible loss globally and individually. I choose to remember the joy and laughter my friend brought to the table. I shall miss her impulsive long hikes through muddy fields, it will be easy in England to think of her every time it rains.
Enjoy your holiday, bank those hugs, donā€™t forget your umbrella. Hope youā€™ve been practicing your pottery skills. Xx

    Hello Grace
All the showcased projects are fantastic. You must have a very difficult job.
I imagine you are mega excited to be seeing everybody at long last, but don’t worry about the alleged death figures. Even one death is one too many but I know for a fact people were included in that massive figure who did not die from Covid. Why we have been lied to remains a mystery, perhaps one day in the distant future the answer will be revealed.
Enjoy your countdown and have a safe journey next week.
    Love
    Roz.xxx

Hi Grace thank you for sharing my card. No wonder you are excited about coming back to England. I know your mum is so looking forward to seeing you. Two years is a long time not to see each other. We should be ever mindful of those we have lost. I hope all your prep goes well. Safe travels. Hugs xxx
