Fri-YAY in the SHACK

Hello hello! Grace here.

I hope you’re all having a good week thus far. It’s almost Thanksgiving in America, so everyone seems a little tense as they decide whether or not to make the trip home to family. We’ve made the difficult decision to go with no. Schools are shutting down and restrictions are being put in place both here in NY and in Ohio, so my lovely Mark called it. We will stay put for the week. Bummer. But also, needs must.

I am going to lift our spirits this weekend by decorating the apartment for Christmas. Time to put the tree up… and a new beautiful wreath I bought from a good friend. I’ll try to get it done so that I can show you soon!

Some GOOD NEWS for our American friends and customers! Our US Clarity Amazon store has just been replenished with some stock. Not our entire range (you can still order from us directly) but some absolutely FANTASTIC products are just a click away on Amazon 🙂 If you have Amazon Prime, that means free shipping! Our Clarity international shipping costs aren’t bad if you do order directly from us, it’s just another option. We’re about to have the big GRAY FRIDAY sale next week too, so obviously that’s worth checking out and waiting for. And will be direct from us. Stay tuned 🙂

GROOVI SHAC

It’s been another great week in the Groovi SHAC, with download #31 (pictured above).

Have a gander at this week’s lovely work!

Barbara Clare Brown
Elizabeth Sykes
Gaynor Murray
Katharine Peace
Linda Stringer

Aren’t they wonderful? They’re all SO different it was hard to even spot them amongst the general artwork in Groovi Worldwide and Clarity Worldwide.

If you’ve never tried the Groovi SHAC challenges before, there’s never been a better time! Second lockdown here we come. You can find ALL of the projects (designed by the wonderful Hazel Edwards) along with instructions and ingredients lists HERE.

They’re just a starting point. Some inspiration. A jumping off point! You don’t need the plates, you can design your own version of the download. Just make sure when you post it on Groovi Worldwide, you mention the download number in the caption, so I know what it is! or email it to me (grace@claritystamp.com)

Here is the FRESH Groovi SHAC challenge of the week, # 32

Getting Christmassy!!!!

Another good reason to join in now… Since we’re having the Gray Friday sale next week, you have two weeks to complete this project! We will show your work and launch the next Groovi download on Friday Dec 4th, as we’ll be a tad busy with other blogs next week. Deal? Deal.

SHAC SHACK

It’s been another cosy & calm week in the shac shack, as you continue to work on your houses and snowy village scenes. They’re my favourite, I think. It’s hard not to go back and forth, but honestly… the photos of the snowy villages and houses are astounding. Not much new information to share in terms of what you need this week, please refer back to last week’s blog.

It is important to mention that the greys used for shadows and shading of the houses are from this collection of 12 Polychromos.

Other important products to highlight for you this week are:
Pergamano Brads
Glue Runner
Adhesive Sheets
Decoupage paste glue (for the canvas board technique)
Acrylic stands
Canvas boards
Buff paper

If you want to see everyone’s epic work in the SHAC, you can find them all here.

Right, that’s enough waffle from me. I’ll see you Sunday for our weekly share of STUNNING artwork. I’ve already picked and saved a bunch. Just you wait!

Lotsa love, Grace xo

Thank you for showing my cards even though there is not much resemblance to the pattern provided.
Thanks for the extra week for the next project – hopefully that means I might manage to fit in making some much needed Christmas cards. Enjoy your decorating.

Great cards from everyone, the new one today is just up my street too! Busy doing Christmas cards at the moment . Just stopped to read here and have a cuppa now I’m going back to them. Have a good weekend, enjoy Christmas decorating. Decided ours will come out a week earlier than usual so that will be end of first week of Dec I think. We’d usually be going to Cornwall but that will be off this year, haven’t seen our friend there all year…. never mind. X

Hi Grace sorry to hear your plans for Thanksgiving have been changed but as you say needs must. It is such a difficult time for everyone at the moment with trying to think about Christmas but making sure everyone stays safe & well at the same time. I think there will be a lot of Zoom Christmas lunches & present opening this year.
Meanwhile we have Gray Friday Week to look forward to from the Clarity Team. Looking forward to seeing what you all have lined up for us.
Will check in on Sunday to see what you have selected from the FB pages this week, meanwhile have a great weekend putting up your tree.

Happy Thanksgiving Grace however you decide to celebrate it with Mark. It will be great – different- but great.

My husband and I have made a similar judgement about Christmas – no travelling this year from the South coast to see son and partner in Cambridgeshire then across country to Gloucestershire to see daughter, son-in-law and grandsons as we usually do. To many disappointments already this year with big plans being scuppered at the last minute so not even going to try. The family have all agreed that keeping safe and well is the priority. Sad yes but not the end of the World.

We might even put up a tree and buy each other presents – haven’t done that for a good few years!

Already purchased the Poppets Postcards. Looking forward to a whole week of Gray Fridays starting Monday.

    Take care Grace

Hi Grace, Happy Thanksgiving and enjoy whatever way you decide to spend it. Enjoy your Christmas decorating, we don’t usually decorate until after 12th December in our house, and this year has been so awful with the horrid virus, I don’t know if we will bother, I haven’t been out of the house for months as this pandemic is so scary. Let’s hope that 2021 will be a much better year.
Enjoy your weekend, stay safe, stay well.
    Love from Patricia xx

Safety is the best present. Killing people or leaving them long term disabled for any celebration really isn’t a good look – and that’s the risk you would be taking. I feel the same about Christmas. There are bigger disappointments than not partying as usual. Now we find out how creative we are in making an alternative better. You’re starting with your tree. Sounds like a great idea, so I’ll do the same. I’m going to clap the health service on Christmas Day too, even if I do it alone.

I think you are very wise to celebrate Thanksgiving quietly, so many people are carrying on as normal and then wonder why infection rates are rising. Better to be safe this year and hopefully we can celebrate everything next year, and how we will appreciate it then.
We usually put up our tree after our wedding anniversary on December 14th but maybe we will do it a bit earlier this year. I love sitting with just the Christmas tree lights on but I’m afraid I get fed up with all the decorations once the day is over. I would take them down then but my husband insists they stay until January 6th!
    Stay safe xx

Lovely cards again Grace. Disappointing for you having to change your plans for Thanksgiving this year but I think most of us will be staying home at Christmas too the way things are going. Much better to keep safe and look forward to a better year next year. Stay safe you and your Mark.xxx
