Pergamano and Christmas is a Match made in Heaven

Well hello there. Stuart here with your first Clarity Matters blog of the week. You might have noticed I was absent last week. Had a week off. Although, the older I get the more like to use the term annual leave. Sure annual leave is a privilege – no denying that. But it doesn’t often feel like that, and it certainly doesn’t feel like a week off… Not with two dinky children who have more combined energy than I ever remember having in my entire life… Few, what a week. I’m thankful and I’ve got to be. But, being honest, it was a tough one. Well, it was to start with. We were rescued by my parents who took the chickens for two nights at the end of the week and were thankful for that – and not just in principle this time… Having said that, there were some particularly fun bits, as demonstrated below:

We saw a real-life polar bear. It was dead. But still real…
Starry-eyed chickens.

Anyway, enough of my veiled moaning. Kids are great and half term is great. But so is going back to work. Doing jobs around the house is productive and useful and necessary – we’re not a lazy bunch of slobs in our house. But doing the thing you get paid for, being productive for your employer and contributing to society at large is a gooooood feeling. So, was I glad for the time off, yes. Am I disappointed to be back? No! Assuming one’s responsibilities and keeping one’s obligations is satisfying. And so today, my job has been to get this week’s TV guide out the door. It’s always a squeeze having to do it all in one day (I usually like to start the week before), but that’s the nature of the times, so efficiency and learning to streamline whilst maintaining quality is important.

Anyways, there is only one show this week which is this month’s Pergamano Show.

That means it’s the start of November already. Perhaps it’s not the start that we all expected… But, despite the things that are happing that are out of our control, there are still some things that are in our control – like being on TV!

Now, for those who don’t know, the Pergamano Show is the time when we focus really specifically on parchment crafting. It’s a place to watch and learn and practice along with Barb and Paul as they teach and train and help you gain the skills necessary to grow as a parcher. And this week we hope you will join them both for another lesson alongside the launch of a brand new Groovi Plate designed by Pergamano queen Linda Williams. It’s our brand new Layered Christmas Tree Plate and it’s a great way to create customised designs. With a basic shape and pattern to follow, there is also a range of design elements that can be swapped in and out depending on how you want your Christmas Tree to be decorated. It’s really, very cool and a great way to practice leaving space in your design to add new elements. There are also brand new matching card blanks in the same Christmas Tree shape so that you can turn your artwork into festive cards.

Well, does that sound like something you want to watch? Of course, it does… See you at 11 on Thursday.

By for now.

Stuart

Sounds like you had a fun, if exhausting week with the chickens 😊 Terrific polar bear!

Thanks for the thumbs up for Thursday. I have the plate but not being a proficient groovi bod I shall be relieved to get some tips on using it. Have a good week

Hi Stuart, When I was reading what happened in your world last week, a week off and you were glad to get back to work haha, it took me back to when I had small children on holiday from school and I was trying to carry on working, it was a nightmare, and it was as the saying goes ” going back to work for a rest” haha. Parents do come in handy, don’t they, I hope you made the most of it.
This sample looks fabulous, I’m looking forward to watching the shows.
    Take care.
    Love, Patricia xx
