The Joy of the Process

Hi there, party people. How are we all doing today?

Still enjoying the party? Stuart here today with Thursday celebration blog.

You know, having a half-price sale on pretty much all of our products is a great thing to do and will hopefully make parching more accessible for some people. BUT, the real way we celebrate Pergamano, Groovi and parchment crafting is by actually doing it, right?

That’s why we’re not just dropping the price and leaving you all to it, no, no, no… We’re celebrating with a cacophony of creative content. Projects, step-by-steps, YouTube videos, downloads, blog posts, and the community hubs that are our social media pages. When you’re excited about something, you do it, or say it, right? And that’s what’s going on this week. We’re doing parchment craft. We’re stimulating the joy of the process.

That’s why we’ve put together today’s project. Carole Panksztelo put this one together and we’ve presented it now in a handy little PDF download – a bit like the Groovi SHAC download. Today’s project uses one of Tina’s Layering Groovi Plates (which you can buy right here with 50% OFF) and presents a wide range of embossing and perforating techniques. So it’s a really good project for having a lot of fun with, learning a few new skills, or flexing your parching muscles.

Simply click the banner below to download and enjoy šŸ™‚ And don’t forget that the ingredients for this project are 50% off on pergamano.com.

Speaking of download projects, now’s a good time to remind you all that our Groovi SHAC competition entries need to be sent into grace@claritystamp.com TODAY! We kicked off the competition on Monday’s blog which you can read again here if you need to.

Simply create and send in, or send in a Groovi SHAC project you’ve already completed, and we’ll be picking three winners to receive a Ā£25 Pergamano gift voucher šŸ¤©

Would be nice, right?

So, speaking of enjoying the process of parchment crafting and speaking of prizes, let’s have another little giveaway, hey?

I’d like you to reminisce for me. I’d like you to either email me or post a comment below with your favourite ever crafting experience (parchment craft that is. Maybe it was the joy of the first time you discovered Groovi? Maybe it was not having a clue what the starter kit was for, but loving learning with it? Maybe it was finally getting to grips with picot cutting or maybe it was learning how to combine Groovi Plates… You tell me.

What’s on offer for your story? Well, I’ll pick my favourite anecdote and the winner will receive a Pergamano Tool Organiser. Sound good? I’m certainly looking forward to hearing those stories. Oh yeah, this is a quick one – I’ll announce the winner tomorrow in Grace’s blog šŸ™‚

So, have a fun day and continue to enjoy the party!

Don’t forget, there’s still 50% OFF at pergamano.com until tomorrow.

And, social media is full of brilliant beautiful interactions, shares and likes and community engagement. Groovi Worldwide and Pergamano Official and Barb’s blog are the other places to be!

Bye for now. Stuart.

I love Groovi. My moment was completing a Jayne Nestorenko Christmas plate . I picot cut out the centre and placed trees and children in the aperture. I had such a sense of achievement as I had done white work, colouring and picot cutting.

My eureeka moment was actually just a few days ago , after many attempts , embossing / piercing the wrong sides , not getting the parchment straight on the plate , parchment / plate moving slightly Yes I finally managed to get Kensington plate by the amazing Josie to match up and make a complete square yippee

My moment of Clarity (‘scuse the pun) was sitting down with Glynis Whitehead at an Open Day at her snip clinic. She told me to relax and empty my mind of everything except picot cutting. I was amazed, I could do it!! Row after row of neat picot cuts.
My mind is always racing and it takes a lot of determination for me to settle down to do Groovi, but it was Glynis who helped me the most, teaching me to slow down. Thank you Glynis!

Mine was switching on Hochanda one day and watching Paul Church demo a beautiful Groovi butterfly card. I had dabbled with trad parchment but struggled with the tracing accurately and this was a Eureka moment as I could immediately see a way I could get back to parching more successfully. I immediately bought everything to create that card!

    Hello Stuart
My moment of Clarity was Barbara’s first demo of the Starter Kit on selly telly. I sent for the kit and I was hooked. Through Clarity/Groovi I have made many friends and my life has been enriched. Crafting has helped me through some dark times over recent years.

My happy crafting memory is , after just discovering groovi for myself , my 10 year old granddaughter being excited by her first groovi creation. Surprisingly itā€™s the Jayne nesterenko plates and Lindaā€™s garden plates that she loves the most. I think because she can create a beautiful picture. I love crafting everyday but itā€™s so much more special on the days we share.

Hehe, my epiphany was yesterday. I’ve been collecting all the gear but had no idea until yesterday when I finally done it!!! Nothing fancy, but it was mine. On with the journey. I’m like a snail, very slow but finally I got there. Everything’s Groovi.

Hi Stuart, the defining moment for me was phoning up to renew my stamp club membership, Groovi had been going about 6 months at the time and Jeanine quite literally talked me in to trying a years Groovi subscription, in spite of my protests that I wouldnā€™t be able to do it as I only had one fully functioning arm. Can you hold a pen and write asked Jeanine, yes said me, then you can do Groovi said Jeanine, that was the start of a beautiful friendship with parchment, achieving far more than I ever thought was possible.

The absolutely highlight of my groovi journey was getting to Leyburn last year for the parchment workshop. We did the fluffy birds (robins), all meticulously prepared by Linda and presented so well by Barbara. That was the first time I had met Barbara, Dave and the rest of the team. What a privilege to get to know them better at the SEC in March. Fantastic weekend in Leyburn but absolutely brilliant workshop surrounded by lovely ladies.

Hi, I clicked on the banner to download project and it came up as access denied. You don’t have authority to view this page. This happens most weeks recently when trying to download Friday projects from email but I have been able to download projects from Grace’s blog no problem.
Have you any suggestions as to what is happening
    Thanks

Hi Stuart, what a lovely giveaway, and my little anecdote was the first time i came across Groovi! Having done traditional parchment when my children were younger and lacking the time it took to complete one project, stopped doing it. I then went to a craft show in Portsmouth and saw a demonstration of Groovi plates with the lightwave, what a lightbulb moment. My Groovi journey started and has gone from strength to strength, (my husband and bank manager wouldnt agree!) i just love everything about it and get excited to add to my stash and not just groovi, stamps, dies you name it, all going in the basket! Just love it all!

I first saw a traditional parchment card in the craft tent at I Highland show about 15 yrs ago and thought I would love to be able to make something as beautiful as that.
Then I saw Tina Cox on TV demonstrating snowflakes and butterflies and was amazed at her talent.
I subscribed to parchment craft magazine and kept on trying to improve.
Along came Groovi. My reaction was – not for me – it makes my cheap hobby expensive.
Hochanda had a special offer when they introduced groovi go and I succumbed.
Now I get as much Groovi as I can manage – my excuse is I don’t have any other vices – at least none I am aware of and really enjoy my craft time.
I really enjoyed all the downloads you have given us and it has taught me so much about mixing and matching plates to get good value from all the crafting goodies you supply us with
    Thank you all

My best experience was seeing a Groovi demo on tv when it first came out, had been trying to do trad parchment craft for a few years, Groovi made it so much easier to get the line work in place, have been using Groovi ever since then, x

Mine was going to a card demonstration by Docrafts at The Range and a lady sat down to watch the demo, she said I donā€™t do paper crafts I do parchment. I have always wanted to learn this so this lady said she would teach me. I went to her house and she taught me but I could not see that white pen outline on the parchment, weeks we kept at it, me trying to press hard so you could see the outline, then one lesson she said I think groovi would be best for you, what is groovi have never heard of it. This lovely lady then got her folders down and I chose a design, from the moment I put the ball tool in the groove and I could see it on the reverse I was hooked.

My moment of Clarity was at the NEC, when I was lucky enough to bag a place on a make and take Groovi session. I was amazed at how easy using the Groovi system was, after being so intimidated by traditional parchment and I proudly took home a lovely finished piece. Of course, I also took home a Groovi Starter kit and quite a bagful other ā€˜necessitiesā€™, but they werenā€™t brought out to show off! My love affair with Clarity and Groovi has flourished since that wonderful November day. X

My greatest moment and memory was when I attended a Groovi retreat at the Spa Hotel a few years ago in the snow. To have the very talented Linda Williams, Tina Cox and of course Barbara all there in person passing on their knowledge was unforgettable. They made it such a fun couple of days and I was completely blown away by how friendly everyone was. I was very nervous about going but need not have worried. I loved making the Daisy project that Linda put together.

Hi the best time for me was when I received my Groovi starter kit . I tried parchment work about 5 years before and done a few bits and bobs but getting the starter kit was the best think ever. It made it so much more enjoyable and relaxing . I have spent many hours 2 am 3 am etc in my craft room with my groovi keeping me company when times were difficult. Now in the times we are in at the moment who do I turn to but my groovi stash to keep me happy .
    Regards and happy parching x

I did traditional parching and other crafts like lacemaking until I had brain damage. I lost a lot of things but started again with very big beads. Long journey but then along came Tina’s picot flowers. ‘I can’ are the most powerful words in the world, the springboard to everything.

My special moment was making friends with the Shackers. Iā€™d admired Groovi but I didnā€™t think it was for me. I had so many questions and my new crafty friends gave their time to answer my questions and I plucked up courage to order a limited stash. Then the lovely Em gave her time to teach me Picot Cutting. Now Iā€™m hooked and building up my plates and tools. I thought Groovi had to be very pale but Iā€™ve learned to colour on parchment and am loving my progress and when Grace chose one of my first creations to feature in her blog I fell off my craft chair!

Iā€™m now a proud member of the Groovi Club and look forward to my monthly delivery- how exciting to be part of this wonderful family with Barbara and her lovely Teams support. I love the passion Goovers have for this craft and itā€™s definitely got me hooked.

Canā€™t wait for my order to arrive! I love just playing with the plates to see how they can be put together to make something that is my style! Without Shac Shack I would have lost my mind during this weird time and I would not have discovered the love for Groovi. Thankyou!!!

I shall buck the trend a little tonight as I am a self-taught traditional parcher and my pride and joy came to fruition when I dorso-ed individual fuchsia petals and leaves, created the blooms and mounted them on a picot cut filigree background as a wedding card for a close relative…it was so lovely to see how well it was received! That having been said, I am delighted that Clarity now own Pergamano as you do pass on some delightful bargains etc and when I see how much pleasure the Groovi system gives folk who have dexterity problems or who always felt too daunted to try the wonderful world of parchment craft….it just goes to show that there’s room for all to come together and share the beautiful designs and ideas that Clarity brings to us all….long may it continue!

My moment of ā€œclarityā€ was just a few months ago when I was searching on-line tutorials on parchment craft that I abandoned 20 years ago, and I saw a video of Barbara on Youtube demonstrating a Pergamano product. I saw the website in the posting, and voila-a whole world opened up for me. I was a traditional parcher-done the tracing and counting of holes on the grid to follow patterns, etc. What I saw floored me! I had to join Groovi Worldwide to see how this system and craft has progressed. I am now hooked and fully invested. I am always in awe at the creative works of art posted at the site, and so excited to receive all my orders during this sale!
