SHAC-Pack

Good morning everyone, Stuart here! How do you spend your Sundays?

Usually, we go to church. I say usually, but usual doesn’t seem to be quite so usual anymore, does it? Our church has started physical gatherings again, but, as you can imagine, with all the necessary protocol involved in Covid mitigation. Hand sanitizer, masks, socially distanced seating, no singing, no chit-chat over tea and biscuits at the end… We’ve had no more than 60 people in our building that can quite easily seat over 200 people. It’s all a bit strange. But worshipful nevertheless. It’s still Sunday – still the Lord’s day. And we’ll enjoy it. I’ll take girl-child with me at 10:30 in the morning and we’ll walk back home after the service has finished. Wifeby will sit and watch the service on YouTube at home while the boy has a nap. And he seriously needs his naps πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ … And you know, it’s all good – not ideal, but the Church is the people, not a place. And that is quite a comforting, reassuring thing. So we’re happy to learn to be content until things change.

Then, after the service, who knows… A walk, a film, a trip to the park… Can’t go wrong with a bit of family time!

Well, that’s us. How about you? It would be really cool to hear about your Sunday routines in the comments! Does anyone still religiously (get it? πŸ˜‰) have roast dinners on a Sunday? Growing up we ALWAYS had them. I remember being quite shocked the first time we didn’t. I mean, spaghetti bolognese on a Sunday? That’s enough to freak anyone out… It’s funny what we all become accustomed to, isn’t it?

Anyway, I ramble… Some areas of life it’s good to be accustomed to. Nothing wrong with routine and stability. Sometimes, we need a little more stimulation. And at Clarity, we know you guys thrive on NEW. New products always sell the best, because, well, they are new. New and exciting and fresh and interesting and different. And, with that in mind, I’d like to introduce the SHAC-Pack. If you watch Barb live from the SHAC Shack on Facebook, you might have heard about it already. You can buy it right here!

Purchase Here

What the SHAC-Pack is, is a bundle of Barb’s Favourite Designer Papers. So you get the Antarctica, Amazonia, Waimea, Toscana and Indian Summer Barb’s Favourite papers all bundled together. So that’s five collections, 2 designs in each collection, and 5 sheets of each design. So, 50 sheets of paper? Make sense? I hope so. Well, below is a little taster of what’s included πŸ˜‰

We came up with the idea for two reasons: 1) It’s an introduction into using Designer Paper and 2) These particular Barb’s favourites are all quite subtle designs, and therefore are great for doodling on. So keep an eye out for them making further appearances in the SHAC Shack. And some of them might look a little bit like this:

This is one of Barb’s, it’s a close up taken with her phone. Doodling on the Designer Paper is a beautiful thing!

Right, I think I’ve been typing long enough. And you’re probably fed up of hearing from me. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.

Stuart

My church has been opened up again for a few weeks and it is nice to get back together again even if it is at a distance!! Our home groups and prayer meetings are still carrying on via zoom though.
Then afterwards – parchment craft for me while husband watches F1.

Enjoy church while it’s open. Who knows how long that will last? As you say, the building is not the important bit. Hope you have a good day.

I think sometimes it is understanding how to use things rather than their newness that matters. Firms explain new products but you may never buy them if you miss that first chance to get the point. Even sizes are missing on a lot of websites.

Our church has opened once with priority given to those without internet access. Only 22 allowed. We are staying home at present and watching it on the Blog. At least we can sing! We have been recording songs etc with others for the services and they are all “stitched together” – technically you understand, but it is a privilege to do it.

Hi there, I would normally be leading worship on a Sunday morning but we have not opened yet. We will be opening on 23rd September, the way things stand at present, for private prayer. It was supposed to be for a short service but with the rise in cases – even in our area where there have been very few cases – we have decided to hold fire! The maximum allowed in any Church building in Scotland is 50 but only if the Church can accommodate that number which many of our smaller Churches cannot with the various restrictions. My routine just now is to right a reflection on our Church FB page and stick it on my own at some point on a Sunday. I didn’t go down the road of youtube services because I think if you are going to do that, the quality of the presentation counts and I don’t have that expertise. However, there are people reading my reflections and commenting who wouldn’t normally be part of a worshipping community on a Sunday morning so it’s all good. The challenge now is to find something to say for today’s reflection! A bit of inspiration needed at my end! Hope you enjoy the rest of your Sunday. Hx

At the moment, my Sunday morning routine often involves two church services! Morning Prayer at 8.30am with members of our Cathedral Community on Zoom, and then Eucharist at 10.15am in the Cathedral itself. All distanced, masks on, no choir, live streamed to those at home. However, it’s good to be there, as the people of God, plus we have amazing organists and a fantastic organ, so we’re not without music.

We’ve just restarted the Cathedral Breakfast Club for the homeless and vulnerable, which provides a hot breakfast twice a week. At the moment we can only serve takeaway bacon sandwiches and coffee, but it’s something, and good to see our regulars again. I did my first stint last Sunday.

Your girl child must have been thrilled to have dad all to herself. Your plans for the day sound delightful. Roast dinners are a once in a while treat at our house. It’s usually just the two of us, and it just isn’t worth all that effort. We had a lovely Caesar salad with grilled chicken tonight.

The papers are wonderful. I have 4 pads of the 12 x 12 that I use for scrapbooks. Would love to see Antarctica in the 12 x 12, it’s totally my color palette.

    Hi Stuart.
Sundays have certainly been very different. Thank God for the internet and live stream masses. Our church is open for limited hours each day now and people are allowed in for mass but with all the precautions and limited numbers. Unfortunately we can’t go as hubby has serious health problems. But as you say, it’s the community not the building that counts.
Sunday roasts went out the window when our youngest left home. We only have them on high days and holidays with a family gathering now (thank goodness – I hate cooking!)
I’ve ordered the new paper pack. Can’t wait for postie to come along.
    Stay safe and God bless.

Hi nice blog thank you. I watched mass on the internet, but our two joined churches have mass each day, just for a few people, so like those, but only get there if I get a lift. Usually it’s on a Tuesday
Roast dinners are what I dream of, but not much use for one person. Did get a lovely piece of apple tart yesterday made by my neighbor.
I love the papers so think I will have to order,
Your Sunday sounded very good. It certainly makes us appreciate things when they are not there all the time. Stay safe. X
