Chat With Us 👋

Ello ello! Grace here.

I hope you all had a good weekend, and stayed indoors. We certainly did! I had a ‘day off’ from the internet on Saturday, as I’ve been staring at screens far too much recently.

But for a good reason! As many of you already know, I’ve been working (alongside Jeannine) on ‘Live Chat’ on the Clarity website. I love it! On the bottom left corner of our website there’s a little icon you can click to ‘come chat with us’.

Now, I’ve had an array of conversations on there over the last 2 weeks, as you can imagine! Some customers just sign on to say hello, some to thank Clarity for keeping them company, some to send their best to NYC and just have a little chat… and the rest to ask Clarity related questions.

Now, let’s be honest! I don’t always know the answer. I’ve been fannying around New York City for 8 years, doing voice overs for all of your favorite feminine products!!

BUT if I don’t know the answer, I DO know where to find out! I’ve got a pretty solid crafty network, you see…

So, over the last couple of weeks I’ve naturally enlisted a few pros that know what they’re talking about. Jane Telford is my numero uno. My pink haired (although not right now) pal is often on Facebook and available to answer my queries. If you don’t know her already, you should! She’s a real gem.

I’ve had personal help from Tina Cox, Linda Williams, Paul Church, Sheila Bradley, Glynis Whitehead… to name but a few. And of course, me Mam. She’s mental busy. But she still helps me!

I got into a right head spin on Sunday… A lovely American customer asked me about what size Groovi plates fit into what, with spacers and borders, with measurements etc etc. we got so confused with English vs American sizes, and though it’s simple really, my brain was frazzled and I could not, for the life of me, explain it to her in simple terms.

So I wrote to Barbara Gray… And she sent me THIS. This wonderful link that takes you to an ‘explanation page’. Boy, I wish I’d known this existed before! If I didn’t know this exists, then maybe some of you don’t either! So here ya go:

In other news…

Last Tuesday I said that we would give a free pack of designer paper to a customer that guessed the right answer from Sheila’s birthday card! It was Waimea Falls and a handful of you gave the correct answer, so I did a little raffle! The winner is… the lovely Pam Kershaw! (Pam, email me your full address and I’ll have that shipped out to you: grace@claritystamp.com). Thank you all for participating 🙂

Lastly, did you watch my Mum’s first live video yesterday? Everyday at 10am, she will be doing a live hang out on Facebook (it will also be available to watch afterwards on Facebook and YouTube, so don’t panic!).

In case you did miss it, here is the one from Monday:

I had a go, much later in the day, and here are my doodles!

Anyway, back to work! Stay safe!

Lotsa Love, Grace xoxo

Hi Grace, Well done to Pam. That’s great. It has been a good week for us so far with doodles and youtube. Your mum is doing a great job as always, even if it does stress her out a bit before. I feel her pain! I never find the FB live on time despite looking but get there in the end and usually have another look at it later in the day. I’m amazed, don’t know why, at how easy your mum makes things for us. Definitely encouraging us all. Well done with your doodles. The different border plates were a mystery to me too but I now have what I need for all my plates so we all get there in the end! Glad you took some time off. Just stay safe and enjoy each time. Hx

Thanks for the Groovi info page. That’s really useful. I’m getting used to the A sizes. Wish we used metric here in the US. It’s so much easier.

Watched (actually mostly just listened) to Barbara’s lesson yesterday. Just listening to her talk while I was making a card was very soothing. It’s amazing how such a high energy person can be so calming at the same time. Tried the lesson today. My tree trunk was horrible, but when I added the leaves, the outline and the dots, it was OK. What a great idea. Just scrap paper and a pen. Must go back and try the first lesson. Your doodles are great!

Love your doodling Grace. Just looked at your link for the plate sizes – very informative. I did not know it was there.
Always good to take a day off periodically.
    Keep safe xx

Hi Grace! I found that getting into Groovi was vexing for an American because of our different views on sizes and measurements. I did look at that chart you linked to, but there still are no inches measurements, that I can see anyway, for us “inchers”! Even the designations of A 4, A5, etc., can mean different things.
Some of the products available on the Clarity site include inches, but many do not. Even your US Amazon site has the plates listed in cm. No wonder my friends, who I have tried to get to join me in this amazing craft, have so much trouble figuring out what to purchase.
Of course, this is not a major concern considering everything else that is going on in the world. So, back burner for sure 🙂

Hello from New Zealand. Just loving your doodling sessions and particularly Barbara’s warmth, clarity and lovely sense of humour. It’s an absolute pleasure to take part in. I have been following Clarity on YouTube for a year or two now and find it goes hand in hand with my passion for calligraphy. I only wish I had closer access to the beautiful stamps, stencils and dies. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your skills and crafts at what can be a stressful and difficult time for so many. It is very much appreciated and you are very special.
