You can take the girl out of England…

Hello! Grace here.

I hope you all had a good weekend. For those of you in England, I heard that there was quite the storm in the UK! Storm Ciara? I hope that none of you were badly affected, and she was nothing more than excuse to stay indoors and craft more!

I am seeing on the news how serious it is though, so I pray that you are all alright. This too shall pass. We get hit by quite the storms in New York. Hurricane Sandy happened within my first year there, and blimey was this little Brit shocked. Nothing to do but hunker down and wait it out. And be grateful you don’t live somewhere like Puerto Rico I suppose.

I’m REALLY trying not to rub it in. I swear! But I can’t lie to you, can I? I’m currently in Orlando, Florida. Which is a glorious change in temperature compared to New York City at the moment. Brrrr!

My lovely other half has a work conference here every February for a few days (PERKS) and guess who quickly decided that she would become a stow away every time. ME.

We came last year, same time, same place. And he took me GUESS WHERE?!

Hogwarts!
Harry Potter World!!

Obviously, if you don’t like Harry Potter, it’s likely not the place for you. But it is magical!! And an experience that’s worth every penny! It was honestly one of the most fun days of my life! And I highly recommend it. I turned into a 12 year old kid again, as did Mark. I was like a kid in a candy store. Except I was an adult… in a wand store.

This bloke/the Hogwarts Express train conductor was British and a personal highlight. He chatted away to us and really made me feel like I was at home. Look at his face. Bit happy 🙂

Mark has a little less time off this year. But it’s okay, because unlike last year, one of his colleagues wives has also decided to be a suitcase stow away. And we just happen to be great friends.

We are going to check out a place called Epcot today, I’m sure some of you know of it, or have even been there! There’s an attraction called “Drinking Around The World” and is the process of making your way around the World Showcase while stopping for drinks and snacks in each country.

Can you guess where I’m excited to go? YEP. Dear ol’ Blighty! Apparently there’s an English pub and a fish & chip shop!

I’ve been told NOT to start in England though, because I will apparently never want to leave and won’t get to visit France, Canada, Germany, Mexico etc.

Funny isn’t it? I’m all the way in sunny Florida, where I’m sure plenty of people would love to be. And I’m mostly interested in going to a British pub.

I’ll take lots of pictures!

Stay warm, stay safe, stay happy <3

Lotsa Love, Grace xoxo

Have a fabulous time Grace. I loved Epcot when we went many moons ago & no doubt there will be a few changes but wandering around the world was great fun. Look forward to seeing the pictures.

I MADE my sister go here when we were in Florida a few years ago. Loved it, couldn’t drag me away from all the sights…she isn’t into HP like me so I just kept calling her a muggle all day!! Have fun touring the world one drink at a time. Xx

Hi Grace, how fantastic. I loved these type of events. Hoping you ladies enjoy yourselves as a treat for all the times you end up ‘eating alone or changing plans’ when they ring and say they have to work late. Whilst you understand it also can be frustrating.

In my corner of the US we had a horrible windstorm last week. 60 mph (~100kph) winds, but fortunately no rain. Lots of minor power outages, but nothing like Storm Ciara. These winter hurricanes are getting more common.

I’ve been to Epcot a few times and the food was usually very good. The Drinking around the World plan sounds like a lot of fun and the weather looks amazing. Don’t miss the fireworks at the end of the day. It’s been over 10 years since I was there. I’d love to go back.

Harry Potter World is on my bucket list. When a new book would come out I would re-read all the previous ones. We had a book store that would release the books at midnight, so there was a big street party with hundreds of people in costume.

Have fun and enjoy the lovely weather!

I loved Epcot especially the dancing fountains and Spaceship Earth. It was 2001 when were last there though so I bet it’s changed an awful lot. Hope you have a brilliant time

Oh, I am so jealous. We were there when they were building the Harry Potter area but have not been back. It is on the other side of the country for us, so probably not in the near future. Enjoy every moment! (I really want a wand, lol!)

Enjoy Grace, you’re in my most favourite fun place in the world. I’m going to turn into one of those old ladies that you see with Minnie Mouse ears on! Love Hogwarts too and I hope you got to ride on the new Hagrid rollercoaster!

Our daughter and family have visited the attractions in Florida but think it highly unlikely I will ever get there. Have fun on your trip around the world. Lovely photos. xx

Have a fantastic time and enjoy your fish and chips. It is still pretty windy in Scotland. Lots of hail and another storm blowing in on Saturday! It’s winter. What can I say? Just sorry for all the folks down south who have been flooded. Must be horrendous for them. Hope things calm down for them soon. Hx

Hello Grace, hope you are having a great time, and good to see that another adult likes buying wands at the Harry Potter experience. Looking forward to your photos. Take care all. Bx
