Get in the SHAC!

Hello hello! Grace here.

I hope you’re all having a good week? And coping alright in the lead up to Christmas?

Me? I’ve been watching The Crown obsessively and wrapping presents in the evenings. Thoroughly enjoying the process of thinking about each gift recipient as I buy and wrap. And have definitely spent too many of my pennies. But hey ho! It’s given me some direction in recent weeks! And we all love a bit of direction.

I have to say, I’ve been having a right laugh at the Elf Hunt. Because I’m on the chat system, I can see that there are about 100 of you on the website at any given moment, searching for little Elfie & Evie. And some of you have even tried to trick me into giving you clues! NAUGHTY NAUGHTY! I happened to be on FaceTime with my Mum the other day and laughed out loud when a lady asked me on the chat system ‘Where is the elf today?‘.

I replied ‘I’m not allowed to tell you, sorry‘.

And she responded ‘Worth a try LOL!‘.

We rolled about laughing, Mum and I. And then I move over to the Facebook groups to work through notifications there and see your mixtured frustration and glee. I know I shouldn’t laugh, but it is funny.

I have noticed that people often step away for a bit, or even for a day and then it clicks… so if you don’t find one, just let it simmer for a bit. It’s supposed to be fun 😉

GROOVI SHAC

So, as many of you know… we parked Groovi SHAC last week for the Gray Friday Sale! What a huge success that was.
And so we’re BACK today.

Here is the newest Groovi SHAC downloadable challenge project for you to have a go at!

Groovi SHAC

Our fantastic Hazel Edwards (who designs these gorgeous projects) is on a shoe theme it seems! I don’t know about you, but I LOVE a pair of shoes. Even if there’s nowhere to wear them this year… they WILL get worn again.

Now, have a look at these glorious cards from Project 32! You don’t have to use the same plates, even if you have them… it’s just for inspiration. And just look how inspiring these are!

Barbara Clare Brown
Asma C
Elizabeth Sykes

Lovely lovely lovely! Such stunning handmade cards. Will these Groovi SHAC cards be sent for Christmas? Or are you holding on to them?

At first I thought the Christmas boot was the central theme of this one, but it could also be the leafy frame… or simply just Christmas. I find it fascinating what some of you see and find, versus others. We all have our own style eh?

I’m sure many of you wouldn’t like some of the outlandish heels I own! And some would be obsessed 😉 To each their own!

SHAC SHACK

It’s been another wonderful week in the SHAC. You’ve all been Staying Safe, Happy And Creative with bus driver Barb, on her Monday, Wednesday & Friday sessions.

Oh boy! THE WREATHS! How beautiful they are. If you want to see what MAGNIFICENT pieces of art everyone has been working on this week, look no further than here.

The items of note this week are…

Episode 147! Whoa… how many of you haven’t missed a single one? What a fantastic distraction this has been for all of us.

On that note, I’ll love you and leave you! Time to get back to the chat… and see if I can figure out today’s Elf Hunt clue!

Ooooh before I go! So many of you have asked me about the White Brads… GOOD NEWS! They’re finally back in stock! You can find them here.

Lotsa love, Grace xo

Hi Grace, I love the boot and shoe plates and plan to do today’s as a card for someone, posted a lot off today, including the PTC exchange as mine has gone off to France, earliest I’ve ever done one I can tell you ! Haven’t looked for elf today but I think i know where she will be be. Glad you’re enjoying your present buying, I’ve bought a little for our great nieces and nephew, they wouldn’t appreciate a cheque or cash at their tender ages, saying that some will go in their bank accounts as well. Heaven knows, by the time they grow up there might not be such a thing as cast the way things are going. I did give some to my hairdresser today though! Anyway, have a good weekend x x

    Hi Grace
Thank you for choosing my card!
All my Groovi SHAC cards will be sent out (if they haven’t already). I am making all our Christmas cards this year (for the first time…….eek!) and still have quite a few to make.
I have watched all the SHAC Shac episodes – joined in live while I was furloughed and since returning to work, I catch up in the evening.

By the way – do you know whatever happened to “Elaine who went out in the rain”……………..?
    Just wondered………….
    Take care

I am happy to say I have not missed a single Shac shack hour, in all these weeks! The dust settles a bit but who cares, no visitors expected. But ever hopeful that things will change ever so slowly, soon. With vaccination I for one , shall not be free, just somewhat safer I hope, and here’s to a better New Year for us all. Keep safe, and thank you so much. Parcels expected from Clarity, that will keep me busy in what will be a strangely quiet Christmas time.

I have been in the SHACK from the start. I had to catch up a few later in the day but mostly it has been live. I have been sewing since April – completed my 100th set of scrubs yesterday (+ 122 scrub hats and some children’s pyjamas) – but the SHAC SHACK hours have been sacrosanct and given me something else to focus on and been very calming as well as convincing me I can draw after all! Barbara has been a godsend. I’ve loved the wreaths but had already made my Christmas cards with the bauble stamps…maybe next year? Stay warm and safe. Xx

Lovely cards. I can’t do parchment work now -too painful for my hands -but I do love seeing the work as it was what got me into card-making back in 1993! That lead to stamping in 1994 (for inserts to start with) and since then I’ve tried pretty much every new technique, but always come back to stamping and then die-cutting.
I’ve watched every episode of the Shac with my friend, Bea, though not always live as 10 am is when we get together each morning for coffee. Now it is 3 times a week, and also winter, we get together 10 minutes earlier on Shac days so we can watch live. We haven’t done every project, but 99% I’d say. Can’t pick a favourite but I’ve sent for the House square stamp set! My drawing isn’t quite finished (no border) so will cheat LOL

Hi there, I’ve been watching the SHAC videos and joining in with some of them. (Excellent fun and pushing me to try new ideas.) BUT… The last two, with the gnomes have me beaten because I can’t find the original drawings to get me started. What have I missed and where? Please help if you can.

Hi Margaret! I’m sorry to hear that you’re having a hard time with the gnomes. We don’t have a download for this one, but here’s the first video of the gnomes.. Perhaps this will be helpful, to start right from the beginning techniques wise. The gnomes start about 7 minutes into the video… Grace xo https://youtu.be/xkeor1ZHbBw
