Hey! Grace here

How are you doing? I’ve had a pretty good week! Finally got around to going to see a TMJ specialist. Have you ever heard of TMJ? I hadn’t… until my jaw started to feel painful about 2-3 years ago. Now it’s an almost-everyday issue, so it’s time to have it taken care of. There’s always something going on eh?

I’m a big believer in ‘it could be worse’. Of course it could be! Always. But the downside to that way of thinking is that I tend to put things off until they become almost unbearable. And unfortunately, now it’s quite bad. So… after a few injections to the insides of my mouth, I’m back home! We’re going to try a whole host of things, from injections to a (very pricey!) night guard, in an attempt to avoid any kind of jaw surgery. Eeeesh. I’ll take the night guard THANK YOU! I’m sure I’m not the only one here that suffers from TMJ (or TMD)… it affects millions apparently. It’s funny how you have no idea about something until it directly affects you. But here’s to finding solutions! That always feels better… when you have a plan.

So I’m living in the solution, not the problem 🙂 How about you?

Another wonderful week of beautiful Clarity artwork! Check out these glorious download challenge cards of the week… We’ve got a bit of a bird & butterfly theme going!

Elizabeth Sykes
Barbara Clare Brown
Christine West
Cathryn Chaggar
Gaynor Murray
Julie Campbell
Linda Stringer
Lyn Buckell
Lynne Bishop
Rosalind McLellan
Sheila Stokes

Love ’em! All of them. It’s fab when you have the right plates, and it’s just as fab when you don’t! Get’s the ol’ brain working whilst doing something relaxing and productive. And that’s the whole point 🙂

Here is the fresh download of the week! Another leafy project! Because IT’S AUTUMN duh. Let’s see what you do with it…

Oh and Happy Friday! Another glorious weekend ahead of us. Anyone else noticing the colours changing more than ever? Life is much slower this Autumn than last…

Lotsa love, Grace xo

I love that poem Grace, so atmospheric.
Good luck with the ‘jaw’ treatment. My daughter in law has a similar problem which is very painful at the most inconvenient moments.
Lovely selection of cards. Such talent.
    Have a good weekend. xx

Firstly thank-you for choosing my card to show and well done everyone else. There were some wonderful interpretations of the design. Just shows what you can do with Groovi plates.
I hope the injections work for you Grace, sounds horrible. I have never heard of it to be honest but any pain is not good. Hope you have a good specialist.
The poem is lovely, I have never seen that one. So fitting to the time of year.
Take care Grace and enjoy the weekend. X ❤️

Sorry to hear you are in pain, Grace. The guard will stop you grinding your teeth, which helped my uncle but he found sleeping on his back and changing his pillow helped more. The physio said it was because it changed his jaw position, so it relaxed. Apparently any posture change may do it. It was a waiting room tip from another patient. Can you date when it started to trauma such as dental treatment or whiplash? If so, an osteopath may be able to correct that event, which in turn eases the jaw muscles. Check your shoes – they wear unevenly if you are out of alignment. The good news is that it goes for most people. I hope it disappears very soon for you.

So sorry to hear you are having problems with your jaw but as you say, you are looking now towards a solution. Praying that works for you. The cards this week are really stunning. I love that project. I have saved all the projects and one day I will have a go at them. Today, I am ploughing through reports for our General Assembly which is online tonight and all day tomorrow! It normally lasts six days but I think that is a thing of the past now! The good thing is I don’t have to travel to Edinburgh for a week and can be there in my jammies if I choose! Very likely at 9.15 tomorrow morning. I can also knit while listening in or colour or even do groovi so the time will pass quite quickly and make the day more exciting! A solution to what could well be frustration at the debates has also been found! Lol. Have a good weekend, Grace. Lots of love. Hxx

    Hello Grace
Sorry to hear you are in pain with your jaw. I have never heard of TMJ (or TMD). Is it anything to do with grinding your teeth in your sleep? I hope the injections etc do the trick.
Well done everyone picked this week. Again it shows the versatility of Groovi. Thank you for choosing my card and, again, there are three East Northants Groovi Group members being showcased.
    Love

Sounds painful, I hope the injections work. I’ve never heard of it. If you know a cure for tinnitus which I’ve had come on this year let me know! Hubby has had it for years so now I know how he feels. Lovely cards this week, I’ve had to do 3 baby cards and a birthday card so had to concentrate on them. Have a good weekend. X

Big ouchy!! I do hope the injections work for you, as I can imagine jaw surgery is not pleasant! You may not be able to talk for a while -how bad it that!? I’m battling Piriformis syndrome (spasm in muscle under the gluteus Maximus -causes severe sciatica). Had physio again today and got a pile more exercises to do in an effort to avoid steroid or botox injections into the muscle. So I understand your hoping expensive injections and night guard solve your problem as much as I hope exercises and expensive physio solve mine!! I hope you and your Mark have a good weekend together.

I’ve had TMJ for decades. Never bad enough to consider surgery fortunately. Mouth guards are great (that reminds me that I need to replace mine), but also physical therapy for exercises that you can do to keep the jaw in alignment. I also try to pay attention to when I am clenching my teeth. Good Luck.

This week’s cards are a lovely touch of summer now that it’s starting to get cold.

Thank you for displaying my card. I quite enjoy the challenge of finding something suitable when I don’t have right plate. Hope you get relief from your pain soon and problem sorted so it doesn’t return

Poor you Grace, I hope you feel better soon. My husband suffers from trigeminal neuralgia, and finds that a wrapped ice pack soothes his face.
