In the SHAC & A Feel-Good Factor

Hi there, Steven here.

Woke up bright and early today to make sandwiches. Why? Well, It’s the first of many mini birthday parties to celebrate my daughters birthday.

On the 1st of September, she’ll be a 1-year-old. 1 year already… where has the time gone?! Blink and before you know it, a year!

With everything that’s been going on this year, we’ve had to plan for people to come at different times. We can’t be having lots of people crammed into our little house and garden. So today I’m excited – feeling good about the day ahead.

Not only that, Freya’s just started walking. What a wonderful thing that is and, best of all, my wife got it all on video. I’m sure many of you who have had children can remember the first time your children took their first steps – It’s certainly something to treasure.

At Clarity, we also had quite the week to celebrate. Barbara completed her 100th hour in the SHAC Shack. When COVID hit us like a ton of bricks, no one knew what was happening and how to deal with these unprecedented and confusing times. Our lives had been thrown into limbo. So, we came up with this idea just do a simple daily doodle, to keep us all together and, more importantly, staying SAFE, HAPPY AND CREATIVE. SHAC. What started out as a simple doodle has resulted in a fantastic community of friends, where we all meet at 10am every day, Mon-Fri and hang out together for a doodle, colouring and painting.

If you didn’t catch the 100th show, It was an emotional one – well worth a watch!

Dave made a guest appearance on Friday’s SHAC Shack.

Sticking with the Feel good theme today, we’ve also just launched our Feel Good Factor Stickers Collection, at a special introductory price of just £10.00.

This collection of stickers is filled with words frequently used in the SHAC Shack and are all about positivity. Everything that best describes the escapism the SHAC Shack has been for many of us over the past 6 months.

If you’d like to take advantage of the offer on this one, you have until midnight Monday 24th August, to get those orders in!

Barbara will be back in the SHAC Shack for more of the same next week. So please do join us at 10am on Facebook live. There’s a free template to download here if you’d like to get involved.

Anyway, that’s it from me today. I hope you have a wonderful Sunday.

Happy Birthday to Freya and Congratulations on that first step. It’s an exciting life with a toddler. You never know where they will be next or what they will be doing.

The Feel Good Stickers are wonderful. “Always look on the bright side of life” makes me smile and start humming a certain song. 😄

Enjoy the parties!! My cousin who is 6 months younger than I (73!) visited just before lockdown and finally brought a note- book her mum had kept when she was a baby/toddler (I’d know about it for many years but never seen it). Her mum had written all kinds of things Christine had done -her first smile, her first words, when she took her first steps, likes and dislikes in food and many other things, including people (she pulled my hair when we first me aged just over a year for her and 19 months for me) and various outings and her reactions -the zoo ones were very funny. I thought, what a good idea, and so when friends have had babies, I’ve given them a sort of scrap-book to fill up with photos and notes about the baby’s progress for the first 5 years. it includes dates of vaccinations, illnesses, allergies and other stuff relevant. They’ve always been well received. Maybe you could make one for Freya?

How wonderful Freya is almost 1 year old. Time flies doesn’t it? Enjoy all the get togethers Steven. It’s a beautiful age there are so many firsts for you and your wife to share with them at that age. I had a book for both of mine that covered their first 5 years, still have the books and mine are all grown up now, my daughter almost 50 and my Son 46.
