A Different Sort Of Picot Flowers…

Good afternoon, everyone. Boy, oh boy, it’s a hot one today. And it’s been getting hotter and hotter all week, hasn’t it? I tell you, that ice cream van keeps driving round at about 7pm every night and it’s getting more and more tempting to give in. But I have to keep reminding myself, £2.50 for a 99’er is just not acceptable! I mean, you can often get a tub of Ben & Jerry’s for £2.50 – it’s always on sale somewhere…

Anyway, enough about my ice cream habits. Let’s get down to business. It’s Tuesday, which means our focus today is on YouTube. And, because Paul will be showcasing our super-duper very clever Picot Flowers and Leaves Fresh Cut/Groovi combo in his One Day Special this week, I thought I’d shine a bit of light on a tutorial he produced last year -making picot cut flowers using dies and Groovi Plates. But it’s completely different. I mean you have to use the same words to describe what he’s doing – picot, cut, flowers, dies, Groovi. But the end result is so so different. I love that about crafting, don’t you? How you use similar products and techniques yet still produce vastly different creations. So I thought you’d enjoy watching both and comparing. Paul’s YouTube is a teenie bit more complicated, but it looks super fun and, as always, Paul’s instructions are so clear and easy to follow I bet you won’t have a problem with it at all.

Want to watch, just click here!

Why not give it a watch now, then watch the ODS on Wednesday and Thursday and let me know in the comments which picot flowers styles you like the best. IF you can choose, that is. Sneaky little question there, I know ;). You can click here to watch or click the banner above. Oh yes, and don’t forget that everything you need to make Paul’s YouTube project now has 20% off. Just to make it extra tempting, you know?! 😉

Well, that’s all from me. I hope you enjoy the day and remember that Clarity matters.

Stuart

I make my own ice-cream almost every week. Tomorrow I plan to do spiced apple as we have been getting huge apples in our veg box and they sort of sulk at the bottom of the fruit bowl, so now I’ll cook a couple in syrup with star anise and then add cloves and cinnamon and pulverise to add to my usual ice-cream base!!
Don’t do Groovi (hands too painful) so haven’t looked at the flowers yet.

    Hello Stuart.

Try this. Whip 600ml double cream until it holds its shape. Add 1 jar lemon curd. Combine. Add crushed meringue and juice and zest of 2 lemons. Stir. Tip into freezer-proof container and freeze. No need to keep taking it out to break up ice crystals. There aren’t any. Enjoy.

    Love
