Our Saturday Share!

Hello! Happy Saturday! Grace here.

I hope you’re all safe and well?

I imagine that, like us in NYC, you are staying indoors until further notice. They’ve just announced groups of 10 or less can hang out in NYC, but I’m not so sure I want to rush out. I’m sure many people here and in the UK will find it difficult not to stay indoors on a long weekend, and unfortunately we cannot stop them from doing that. We have zero control of the actions of others. We can only control our own little bubble, and even then… not really!

So instead of getting angry and frustrated at people I’m going to busy myself with safe and healthy things this holiday weekend. Perhaps a puzzle? Or I might have a crack at organizing a few drawers. Maybe cook something. Start a project. The world (or my apartment) is my oyster!

It doesn’t really matter what I do. As long as I’m at home I’m not putting anyone at risk or in danger. And that is something to be proud of. Let’s not forget how strong everyone was for the first month or so, and now we’re into month 3 it’s wavering around the world. And of course restrictions are slowly lifting. I personally am going to sit it out and watch from the window…

Have you ever watched Game of Thrones? If so, think ‘Dothraki disappearing into blackness in battle’.
Nah thanks, I think I’ll stay here in the safety of the castle basement. Oh wait!

And if you haven’t watched it?! WELL WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?! Even my Mum (who will normally leave the living room if things get too violent) was obsessed with GoT. I’m jealous of anyone who hasn’t yet seen it and highly recommend it. I even have a couple of good friends in the show!

Anyway, back to the weekend. My mum always says ‘As long as you keep your side of the street clean!’ and I apply that massively to this pandemic. I’m staying indoors for my close friends that are nurses and are still overwhelmed and at risk on a daily basis. I personally don’t want them to have to go through this again a few weeks from now. Who are you staying inside for?

Now back to our regularly scheduled programming!

I found some really lovely cards this week that I have to share with you! I’m sure they will inspire you as much as they inspire me. Check them out…

Nicola Berry
Josie Davidson
Sheila Bradley
Roz Watts
Deb McMullin
Jackie Couling

Aren’t they fantastic? Each and every one is a frameable work of art. So much time and creativity, skill and thought. Love them!

On that happy note, I’m off to go enjoy the weekend! And I hope you are too!

Lotsa Love, Grace xoxo

Ooh! What a surprise to see my jigsaw birthday card here – thanks Grace! I’m really chuffed 😊 and to see it amongst such beautiful artwork from others is amazing!

I was given the full box set of Game of Thrones for Christmas and was intending to binge watch the whole darned lot but the weather has just been too nice and my daily doodles sometimes take me much longer than just the hour we share together; and I keep buying new stamps and stencils and dies to play with – only to help the good ship Clarity stay afloat of course! So all in all I haven’t even started Episode 1 yet. I never knew a lockdown could be so busy!
Stay safe and enjoy your weekend xxx

How do you stamp the puzzle please. I have one but not sure how to do it

        Hi Anne
The main thing is to keep the jigsaw intact! I was sure that Barb did a tutorial on how to use the jigsaws but I’ve searched for ages now without success for you. I have However found how to colour the “Gandering Geese” on her YouTube Tuesday videos from a few years back. Search GG as above. They are relatively similar!
Grace might be able to find them for you.
Essentially I sponged yellow or blue stamp pad ink on each top corner very lightly and then combined them for a green lower half. I stamped the cockerel, hen, grass and text in black archival and coloured them with pencils.

I carefully turned it over and stamped a large Happy Birthday in archival on the back, broke it up and put the pieces in an envelope.
After his birthday I mounted it on a yellow background to make it look nice and jolly!
Hope this helps. Do post on Clarity worldwide and tag me when you do it as I’d love to see it please xx

Beautiful artwork and, as you say, all worthy of being framed and hanging on a wall! Re the staying in/safe etc, we’re (husband and I) in no rush to get out there it’s still far too risky and nothing is going to change our minds on that for the foreseeable. Husband is vulnerable/shielded so he’s not been allowed past the back garden…not even to put the bins out at the top of our driveway… I only go out for food when necessary and luckily we have a smashing little Tesco superstore just up the road so I go early to avoid it being busy and then jump into the shower/bath upon return and change all my clothing prior to husband being allowed anywhere near me. Might seem a little extreme but I feel it’s necessary. Stay safe one and all. x

Hi Grace, thanks for picking my card. Love seeing them all, it was nice to do a bit of stamping. I, for one, will not be rushing out when we’re allowed to. Glad you’ve kept safe. I do one shop a week for us and our neighbour but this week I have secured a Sainsbury’s delivery for Monday evening – hurrah ! First one ! Hubby has COPD but not severe but he hasn’t had contact with anyone but me and I have been very careful. We haven’t watched GoT – not my cup of tea but I know hubby will like it so he can watch it when it’s available for us. Looking forward to another week with your Mum, wonder where we’re going ? Passport is ready. Have a good weekend x x

Lovely artwork as always Grace. It must be so difficult to choose. I don’t blame you for not rushing out even though you are allowed to. Stay safe. Family games night starts shortly so I better go.

Beautiful artwork Grace, thanks for showing it.
Susan, it’s not extreme, I do this too. Hubby has heart, lung and liver problems and I need to keep him safe. One day a week I get up early, into yesterdays clothes, out to the shops, back home, dump clothes in the washer, bath or shower, clean clothes on, breakfast with hubby and settle to another week in lockdown.
Clarity is part of our regular routine and together with other crafts we are well occupied and happy. This bank holiday will be no different for us, but to those who can SAFELY go outdoors I say enjoy but do be considerate of others.
Not into Game of Thrones, would rather re-watch Barb’s Youtube’s as there is still so much to absorb.
Look after yourself Grace. Hugs 🍒

Thanks so much for sharing all these fab cards, Grace. I don’t always get much time for social media during the week when I’m at work and I really appreciate you showcasing these at the weekend. They are all so lovely

Great blog as ever. Enjoy your weekend x

Beautiful cards as usual. Like you Grace, we don’t want to go out taking chances when they take the lock-down off. We will be very worried whether it will all start again, so will wait to see how it all goes first. Anyway enjoying your Mum’s Shac Shack so much we won’t really want that to end. Stay safe. xxx

Such beautiful cards. Thank you for showing them. I won’t be going out any time soon either as hubby has COPD and is shielded. I have only left the house during lockdown to walk my little dog and have done that at odd hours when there are not many people about. We are fortunate to be on Sainsburys vulnerable scheme so get deliveries each week and hubby’s medication is delivered also so really no need to risk anything. Am so grateful to your Mum for what she is doing and am loving the Shac Shac sessions. You take care out there in NYC. Must be quite a scary place to be at the moment. Am sure if we are sensible we will all get through this and be stronger people for it. Xx
