Wedding and Lace

We’ve got a little retrospective of a tutorial today, for YouTube Tuesday. It’s a really sweet project using one of Barbara’s wedding photographs, framed with parchment patterns designed using our exquisite Queen Mary Lace Duet Groovi Plate/Grid. Check it out by clicking below.

As usual, you can get everything you need to create this stunning little design. Steve, who regulates the offers has even put the whole range of Queen Lace Grid Duet Plates on sale too – just for the week – so you can pick and choose which ones you’d like to use. Any of them would be suitable for this project!

Oh yeah, and just in case you don’t know what a Grid Duet is (the name doesn’t make it obvious to a novice), well let me explain. The essential techniques in parchment craft are embossing and perforating. Groovi PLATES contain etched grooves. These grooves let you emboss i.e. not going all the way through the parchment. Groovi GRIDS are series’ of drilled holes that allow you to perforate (or pierce) all the way through the parchment making little holes in a pattern. Perforating is necessary for snipping. GRID DUETS combine both grooves and holes, combined in pre-designed patterns, that you can more quickly and easily and accurately combine both techniques!

Why not check out this selection of artwork using the Grid Duets for size and tell me it’s not amazing!

And, since there is a bit of a wedding theme in the video, here’s a little something that I noticed sitting in my home “office”. 7 years and still not itchy!

Well, that’ll do from me.

Clarity matters. It really does.

Which plates were used for the central design of the top two examples please? I already have the lace plates and the centre design for the other two.
    Really lovely wedding photo.

Didn’t see this yesterday -playing catch-up!! Beautiful work and so inspiring. My friend ahsd several of these plates so I’ll show her to see if it gets her going!! I can’t manage groovi as my hands are too painful, sadly. My friend is 90 in a couple of weeks and we’ve both been parching since 1993 -she still does it even though i’ve given up. Love the wedding photo and so glad you aren’t ‘itchy’!!!!

I love these plates & did several once I had worked out the best process for me. They came in useful when I had to do some quick cards so just added a design in the middle & the cards were done. Now I need to do some more but having time to do them slowly is key. Will check out the plates on offer as I don’t have them all.

Hi Sue. I made the top card. The plate I used for the lacework was Victoria Lace Grid Duet 41137, and for the central design I used Art Nouveau Poppies 40121. Maggie xx
