Kitsch Flamingo (INK-AR-50512-XX)
Salvaged Patina (INK-AR-50511-XX)
Clarity Stencil Brushes (ACC-BR-30006-XX)
Pergamano Colours Exclusives (PER-CO-70060-XX)
Strong Double-sided Tape (ACC-AD-30375-XX)
7 x 7 Card Blank (ACC-CA-30619-77)

Method

Step 1. Use a tumble dryer sheet on both sides of the Lavender Fields parchment. There is a wrong and a right side to any coloured parchment paper. The darker glossier side is the back, whilst the more muted, matt side is the front.
You need to emboss on the back and perforate from the front. Do a little test in the corner of the paper and the side with the whitest embossed dots or lines will need to be face down onto the grid. Line up the paper on the grid, ready to emboss the dots.

Step 2. Make some reference dots first. We will need 8 repeats of the pattern along each side. The reference dots help you with lining up and making sure all the corners meet.

Step 3. Now go around the grid and finish off the embossed dots. Then snip out all the sections. A guide comes with the plate, so do not throw this away as you can refer to it when working the grid lace. Use the Bold single needle tool for this.

Step 4. Put the parchment piece to one side and start preparing the paper stitch topper. Use the Clarity brushes to lightly brush the inks onto the topper. Make sure to get rid of excess ink first and do not press on too hard, so that the inks blend together. Just light layers. You can add more if you want deeper colours.

Step 5. Use some Pergamano Colours Exclusive felt tips to colour in the hearts, dots and other shapes in the design.

Step 6. Put the topper onto a foam perforating mat and, using the fine single needle tool, perforate through the grey dots in the design, as it tells you on the instructions you get with the packaging.

Step 7. When you thread the needle, be careful not to use too much thread, as it can may get tangled. Stick it to the back of the work using double sided tape, being careful not to attach the tape over the holes you will need to sew through later.

Step 8. Follow the stitch guide to finish the whole of the design. It is a marvellous guide and much more able to describe what to do than myself.

Step 9. When you have finished stitching, attach some double-sided tape to the back and put it in the centre of the parchment piece.

Step 10. Attach the finished topper to a 7 x 7 card blank. Your card is complete!

What a stunning card! I LOVE our paper stitch packs. Don’t you?

Hi Grace & Glynis, another item to add to my shopping list !! What a lovely result the mix of parchment & stitched card makes. I do have the original designs on the Groovi plates so I should make more use of them but even though I am retired the hours in the day seem to fly by & my to do list grows.
It looks as of the weather is improving at long last so have a good week everyone & hopefully see some of you at the Open Days xx

Great step by step, for this lovely card, thank you Glynis, and thank you Grace for your news about the brads. I’m lucky that I still have some left, but feel the need to order some more of my favourites that I seem to use the most. xx
